okay, this has always been a problem in minecraft ever since early beta when they really started adding stuff, squid for example, we waited 3 weeks for, and when the update came, there were no squid (yeah big deal) it was a big deal at the time because of the hype, now atleast there is a tiny bit of atmosphere to the EMPTY oceans.
they add cool stuff like the iron golem, then practically remove it from the game, making it TOO RARE for an average player to ever notice is a thing, it ruins the features and mojang's hard work, and frustrates me to no end.
look at HEXXIT, nothing is too rare in hexxit and it makes the game alot more fun and adds ATMOSPHERE. if it is too rare, it's worth it massively, how did 3rd party modders not being payed 50 dollars an hour add 10 times more stuff in a fraction of the time it has taken mojang to? it just doesn't make sense.

they said they were going to make villages spawn in more biomes around 1.2 but that turned out to be a lie
-the only spawn in "flat areas" and most of the time they just don't spawn period, my current seed I'm using doesn't even have a village anywhere on the 4:4 map and that's ridiculous, and when you do find a village finally? they have crap trades and crap AI, you have to build a fence around the village so they don't get slaughtered and light up every block or they get slaughtered anyways, jeb didn't even take the time to light all the buildings so that they generate with light.
and iron golems? I've NEVER seen a village equipped with one, you have to baby a village and they're PATHETIC

and how exactly are we supposed to find them? the way I recognize as legitimate is using the X-ray machine, a track, a minecart and a redstone block, I never would have found a dungeon yet without this even though I've searched for HOURS in the caves, finding nothing, and even then you might not find a saddle for the horses, ANOTHER FEATURE MIGHT AS WELL HAVE BEEN REMOVED BECAUSE IT'S TOO RARE.

NOPE once dinnerbone saw that docm77 had a villager farm he had to "nerf" zombie villagers
now it took me 3 whole nights in minecraft to find just one villager with a garbage trade

I spent SIX HOURS looking for a nether fortress before finally giving up and finding one with MCEdit, this is very frustrating considering you have to find a nether fortress to fight the wither and to find blaze rods for brewing, and SERIOUSLY what else does the nether have to offer that you don't find within the first 100 blocks? nether quartz? get real, this is a ruined feature, how do they expect anyone to find nether fortresses when you CAN'T EVEN NAVIGATE THE NETHER without leaving a trail of torches/cobble? did they even think that through? don't even get me started on how sometimes you can just spawn in solid netherrack, that's IDIOTIC. oh one more thing, now my DIM-1 folder is TWICE THE SIZE of my overworld. yeah. good one mojang. keep up the good work.

seriously? you guys saw the witch towers that awesome mods added and then added an ugly watered down version that is too rare for even advanced players to really find? you realize that not everyone can make big 5 gig worlds looking for this stuff, I only get usually one swamp per world and I got very lucky to see that the swamp I have does have a witch hut, but before that I NEVER saw it other than in creative with a seed. and when I did see a witch hut, there was no witch, period. witch huts might as well have not been added.

RUINS it for the average player.

Again, supposed to be rare. Considering that you notice Docm and Etho's videos, you should be aware that Docm is making a witch farm. I've seen other farms that are efficient and easily abusable for materials.

Conclusion - Although some of these are valid points, you have proved yourself incompetent by repeatedly referencing usage of Xray machines, using seeds to obtain loot, showing a lack of understanding of minecraft mechanics and complaining about Minecraft 2.0. And then you hint that you're an advanced player.
Why Minecraft mobs should NEVER have multiple attacks:
- No other PC mobs do. - Mob behaviour is intended to be simple.
Why you should NOT name new "special ability" weapons as "XXX Swords":
- No other swords have special abilities. - Make a new kind of weapon.
Although you didn't lay out the suggestion that well, I do agree with your point.
I once had to go into creative mode and fly round the nether to even find a fortress and it still took ages! And it was so far away I had to make a trail back to my portal with grass blocks to not get lost! And why are the horse things and name tags only in dungeons., why can't they just be craftable? And if they are going to be dungeon loot - GIVE US MORE DUNGEONS!

That, and the loot in dungeons is useally something like a bucket, or some bread. Saddles should be craftable, so should horse armor, and have durability, and be enchantable. They really need to fix what they've started.@ Quadrabliz, the problem is that even though the op is a cheaty player, there's no real point to search for dungeons and witch huts. witches are.. nice, but there's nothing there one can't get in the nether. dungeons are full of cruddy loot like wheat, with the OCCASIONAL saddle or horse armor, pssh, let those be craftable and have durability, and put rare items into those chests.....
So you want our world to be generating a lot more dirt, stone, gravel, sand and water than it does now? And you want more zombies than we have now? And also creepers and skeletons? You also want more jungles and taigas? You also want more lava pools? You also want more pitfalls? Even deaths?

Though it is nice finding rare stuff at times, there is a reason why they are called rare in the first place. And in this game, you should be the one building your structures and creating your own items you need for survival. Those generated structures and their loot (even the uncraftable unique ones) are just a bonus.
I disagree with you COMPLETELY. I like the rarety of all the things you mentioned. It makes it alot more cool when you find it. You said which huts have never spawned whiches for you. Have you lited up all the caves? Or flooded the area makeing impossible or mobs to spawn except in you which hut?
I think Mojan has done an excelent job with the rarety of items.

Some people might find some of this stuff easier than others, and these rare things usually offer a ton of things, so if you make them less rare, you can overspoil players. Or even more so.

I must agree with Theriasis and Denoyi in that this is a very drastic approach to a so-called problem that really never bothered me or my friends playing. And to that I will add that by making something rare more frequent you only destroy what little sense of fun and "atmosphere" there everwas in the first place.the issue is not the frequence, but the quantity of smaller frequencies. Give Mojang time with their updates and you will see that the problem is self-repairing. When they make something rare they do it for a reason.

I've never seen a witch in normal survival, so I guess I can agree with them being a little too rare. I also think that horse equipment should be craftable. I don't enjoy searching for treasure chests - I'm more of a crafter in MC.
Everything else though is wrong. Nether Fortresses, squid, villages, etc are all pretty common.
Iron golems are rare in default villages (I've never seen one in a village naturally), but that's something you can control. Build a little town and the golem with spawn. I see the iron golem as a reward for building up a village so that's not an issue to me.

On one server I was playing on for only a couple weeks, I had almost half a double-chest of mossy cobble, all from dungeons, at least 6 copies of music disc 13, and my entire wheat supply.

Yeah, nether fortresses are a bit too rare. Though it's not that bad- I mean, 25% of the time you see one if you just look around outside your portal. I don't see why the DIM-1 folder being bigger than the overworld folder is a problem. It's full of netherrack and lava instead of empty air, it's bound to be a bit more memory-intensive.

I'd say that witch huts have about a 50/50 chance of spawning in any given swamp- if you're only willing to find one swamp per world, that's your fault, or bad luck. The Mindcrack server has 3 within 1000 blocks of spawn, and I almost always find one. Also, witches only spawn in darkness. So if you found the witch hut in the daytime, no you didn't see a witch. It's an incredibly small spawning space considering they follow a similar spawning mechanism to zombies, skeletons, creepers, etc.

Things are rare for a reason. It's what makes the game challenging or fun.

they add cool stuff like the iron golem, then practically remove it from the game, making it TOO RARE for an average player to ever notice is a thing, it ruins the features and mojang's hard work, and frustrates me to no end.
look at HEXXIT, nothing is too rare in hexxit and it makes the game alot more fun and adds ATMOSPHERE. if it is too rare, it's worth it massively, how did 3rd party modders not being payed 50 dollars an hour add 10 times more stuff in a fraction of the time it has taken mojang to? it just doesn't make sense.

okay let's start with villages
they said they were going to make villages spawn in more biomes around 1.2 but that turned out to be a lie
-the only spawn in "flat areas" and most of the time they just don't spawn period, my current seed I'm using doesn't even have a village anywhere on the 4:4 map and that's ridiculous, and when you do find a village finally? they have crap trades and crap AI, you have to build a fence around the village so they don't get slaughtered and light up every block or they get slaughtered anyways, jeb didn't even take the time to light all the buildings so that they generate with light.
and iron golems? I've NEVER seen a village equipped with one, you have to baby a village and they're PATHETIC
-mob spawner dungeons
and how exactly are we supposed to find them? the way I recognize as legitimate is using the X-ray machine, a track, a minecart and a redstone block, I never would have found a dungeon yet without this even though I've searched for HOURS in the caves, finding nothing, and even then you might not find a saddle for the horses, ANOTHER FEATURE MIGHT AS WELL HAVE BEEN REMOVED BECAUSE IT'S TOO RARE.
-zombie villagers
okay an alternative to finding a village, yay!
NOPE once dinnerbone saw that docm77 had a villager farm he had to "nerf" zombie villagers
now it took me 3 whole nights in minecraft to find just one villager with a garbage trade
-that brings me to another point, dinnerbone is a terrible developer in the fact that he only adds stuff that his FRIENDS like docm77 and etho want, this can be good or bad, but also a waste of time. like the "UHC snapshot" that's a bit corrupt doing things to help out friends don't you think, dinnerbone?
-nether fortresses
I spent SIX HOURS looking for a nether fortress before finally giving up and finding one with MCEdit, this is very frustrating considering you have to find a nether fortress to fight the wither and to find blaze rods for brewing, and SERIOUSLY what else does the nether have to offer that you don't find within the first 100 blocks? nether quartz? get real, this is a ruined feature, how do they expect anyone to find nether fortresses when you CAN'T EVEN NAVIGATE THE NETHER without leaving a trail of torches/cobble? did they even think that through? don't even get me started on how sometimes you can just spawn in solid netherrack, that's IDIOTIC. oh one more thing, now my DIM-1 folder is TWICE THE SIZE of my overworld. yeah. good one mojang. keep up the good work.
-witch huts
-they're hideous and never spawned witches for me until 13w39b
seriously? you guys saw the witch towers that awesome mods added and then added an ugly watered down version that is too rare for even advanced players to really find? you realize that not everyone can make big 5 gig worlds looking for this stuff, I only get usually one swamp per world and I got very lucky to see that the swamp I have does have a witch hut, but before that I NEVER saw it other than in creative with a seed. and when I did see a witch hut, there was no witch, period. witch huts might as well have not been added.
-nether fortresses again. COME ON, they're the ONLY THING to find in the nether, and you ofen can't find one without 6 hours of searching. this seriously needs to change. someone. please hear me out.
-iron golems in villages
yeah as I've said, I have never once seen an iron golem spawn naturally not even in a superflat world, adding them as a "village defense" is a poor excuse, villages need to be looked at again, and made alive and solid and functional, not just clusters of houses ofen too buried to identify, villages were so hyped too, and they are a ruined feature because they're too rare.
-horses and equipment
okay horses spawning in plains makes sense and sure they can be rare, but what's not okay? making none of the stuff craftable.
when jeb added horses he said something like "we made saddles etc dungeons only so the player will find them metagame rather than at spawn, well guess what jeb, you can just get a seed with a dungeon and horses and there you have horses at spawn, what this really does? RUINS it for the average player.
this is equivelant to adding something, then completely removing it *cough* COLORED GLASS*
it's like, you spent hours coding this allegedly, why did you just ruin all of your hard work?
well that's my big rant, Idk if anyone will read through it, but you didn't have to, so if you disagree, I don't have to read your flametard comments.
I made no mention of jungle temples/desert temples because they're kinda just loot houses and are ugly, they should atleast have spawners to make it a minuscule challange.
the game is fun sure, but they promised this stuff would add atmosphere to the game, but most of the time you spawn you get a forest 1000 blocks in any direction.

Conclusion - Although some of these are valid points, you have proved yourself incompetent by repeatedly referencing usage of Xray machines, using seeds to obtain loot, showing a lack of understanding of minecraft mechanics and complaining about Minecraft 2.0. And then you hint that you're an advanced player.

- No other swords have special abilities. - Make a new kind of weapon.
So you want our world to be generating a lot more dirt, stone, gravel, sand and water than it does now? And you want more zombies than we have now? And also creepers and skeletons? You also want more jungles and taigas? You also want more lava pools? You also want more pitfalls? Even deaths?
You want everything to be less rare right?
But on a more serious note:

Though it is nice finding rare stuff at times, there is a reason why they are called rare in the first place. And in this game, you should be the one building your structures and creating your own items you need for survival. Those generated structures and their loot (even the uncraftable unique ones) are just a bonus.
Things are rare for a reason. It's what makes the game challenging or fun.
I think Mojan has done an excelent job with the rarety of items.

I've had worlds were I had completely searched multiple nether fortresses and STILL NO NETHER WARTS.

Some people might find some of this stuff easier than others, and these rare things usually offer a ton of things, so if you make them less rare, you can overspoil players. Or even more so.

Everything else though is wrong. Nether Fortresses, squid, villages, etc are all pretty common.
Iron golems are rare in default villages (I've never seen one in a village naturally), but that's something you can control. Build a little town and the golem with spawn. I see the iron golem as a reward for building up a village so that's not an issue to me.
Bread's supposed to be rare?
See, i think they should make them full of halfway decent things.. yes the horse armor may pop up every once and awhile... but they should *fix* villages, and make dungeon loot worth while.. and possibly make them larger.
other than that.. I'm ok with our current rarities apart from the above rant....
