We need stealth and combat truly improved. Here is my suggestion
tl;dr: Get off your lazy butt and read it, I worked on this suggestion you know.
Watch Dogs
All our beloved pets are wonderful beings. They protect us from mobs and can be useful for killing sheep and the sort. But they also interact with players. What is my point here?
Cats and dogs get angry when somebody is threatening their owner. They get nervous in real life... why not minecraft? It adds realism AND a new game mechanic: BOLD-When another player besides the owner is within 10 blocks of the animal, it will start making a mad noise (Cats hiss, dogs growl). This can alert you that an enemy is nearby, but can also alert the enemy that you are nearby.
What does this do? It adds a mechanic to where when you have an animal with you, it may be annoying but it makes sure there is nobody to come out of nowhere and murder your children's children.
THIS IS NOW A POSSIBLE THING:Training tags can be applied by the OWNER only to prevent your animals from not growling at certain players. This requires a piece of paper and a string in any order. The texture is similar to the nametag, I might make one soon, but anyway, you rename this to a player's name who you don't want your dog to growl at and right click them. Makes em calm. Nuff' said.
Suggested by stealthman on page 2: Wolves now have a popularity system like villagers. Feeding a wolf gives it +3 reputation points, and hitting it gives -5 reputation points, this is for the owner.
If you are another player, feeding then gives +3 reputation points, hitting then gives -10 reputation points.
A player starts out with 10 points. If another player has -10 reputation points or hits the owner twice, they attack the player. Giving the dog over 16 reputation points makes it stop growling at the feeder. This can help when you have to sneak into a base, so always bring some meat!
Night time!
You can have a pet nearby to alert you but can you hide without a watchdog? Well, how about darker nights?
Here is an example:
This will allow for people with darker skins or people with black leather armor to blend in. Note the before is on default moody, and the after is on newer moody. If you want a better example of this, look at cube world's midnight. Along with this, lights that you can carry can be added, but highly unlikely.
Take cover!
But what about in the day? What can you do then? What if you are hiding from another player and then you see a pillar of sugarcane! Great! You hide in it, and your new VISIBILITY bar goes down. You start to turn slightly transparent and your name does the same.
Wait- what does this mean? A visibility bar?
This means that you have a visibility rank, which every time it goes down, you blend in and fade. Where is this placed? Right above the hunger bar! This goes along with the breathing bar and replaces it. The visibility bar is green, the symbols are eyes, and they have a blue outline. The blue outline turns red once a bubble is drained.
To add more things rather than just sugarcane, thing such as "High grass" which would be two blocks high, looking like tall grass but more in a fashion of a sugar cane texture (Not rounding off on the tops, imagine that stacked).
This makes sure you are never FULLY invisible and you are able to hide but STILL be sometimes seen.
Crouching makes you 3% less visible.
Raining makes you 5% less visible.
Suggested by rarekwiebus: Placing any lava source under a block that a full source block of water is sitting on will make mist rise from the water, therefore letting you hide in custom lakes. Mist rises 2-4 blocks at random, and you can also customize the height via mcedit. Mist looks like a clear block that you can pass through, this block will decay once the lava is removed.
Standing in mist: 50% visible
Standing in 2x2 mist: 35% visible
Blending in
You need to blend in with the forest at night, because if you just have a set of black armor, they can see you just fine. You can't go invisible and fade into the night, but you can go highly unseen.
Combining leather and adding colors to a leather tunic will mix up the colors like an army camo style. You can have up to only 3 colors! More would add too many textures.
Stamina- FOR BLOCKING!
Most people would think that I am suggesting this for sprinting. Nope. Hunger covers it, in which that makes sense. I am suggesting that you need it for blocking so you don't see people randomly block attacking.
Here are changes to blocking:
Top left corner there is a yellow bar, that represents stamina, which regens 3 seconds after not using stamina (1 cube for second).
Blocking takes 1.5 second(s?) to pull it up, the way that would look is as if you were blocking with mining fatigue. This will prevent spam clicking.
Blocking prevents different amounts of hearts from different swords.
Golden swords can pass right through any block- No stamina
Iron/Stone gets blocked by 1/2-1 heart.- 1/2 a heart; 1/2 a cube- blocking 1 heart;1 cube
Diamond can be blocked by two hearts.- Two stamina cubes
Wooden is always blocked by half a heart.- Half a stamina cube
Arrows are blocked by half a heart.- Half a stamina cube.
All other tools are blocked by 1/2 heart per higher tier. (Gold and wood are on the same level)- Considering the previous things, each heart=1 Stamina cube
You CAN'T block punching.- No stamina.
The more hearts you block, the more stamina drained. When you run out of stamina you can NO LONGER BLOCK!
Considering mobs, creepers can be blocked like they normally can. All other non weapon wielding mobs can block like they normally can.
If no stamina was needed to be drained from no damage blocked, then you are free to keep your full bar.
The stamina bar is yellow cubes into 10 parts like hunger, health, armor, etc.
Please post opinions on the blocking situations and stamina. Mainly on how much stamina should be drained per different block.
Back and forth
You can jump left to right using this mechanic. It does require stamina. Each jump requires 1 full stamina cube. What this does: Lets you dodge attacks, also being invincible for half a second.
This is controlled by holding R and your left/right button. The animation for this would be like Smart Moving's, but this mechanic is more for combat, not parkour.
Well, that is pretty much it, I will add more later if I can think of anything else.
I would really love feedback. Comments, negative or good, I don't want to come back tomorrow and see 200 views and 3 comments.

For once there's actually a good, original suggestion. I agree with pretty much everything here, but how many times can you block before your stamina runs out? Also, I think 1.5 seconds is too long to block, people just simply wouldn't block. Maybe somewhere from 0.3-0.7 seconds. Also, I really like the Visibility idea, it reminds me a bit of Assassin's Creed.
But what about in the day? What can you do then? What if you are hiding from another player and then you see a pillar of sugarcane! Great! You hide in it, and your new VISIBILITY bar goes down. You start to turn slightly transparent and your name does the same.

So a million diamonds and supportage for you for that.
Unfortunately I hate every other suggestion in the OP. This is why Wish Lists are frowned upon. Because if you post a wish list, people will love one idea, but hate another, and the thread will get scattered and cluttered.
Well written and well formatted. Unfortunately, it is a wish list, and this is against the rules. I won't report it if no one else does though.
As to the substance, I love love love love love:

It's not a wish list. It is improve combat/stealth combat. If it all relates to the same topic in a way that is not relating to other things such as me suggesting this and then suggesting unicorns, it is fine.

Cats.
How about just 1 second? I think the longer wait time to block will be ignored and not cared about once people hear about the upgrades to blocking. I'll work on the stamina drains.

Minor dupstep... Doomsday. DUBWUBWUBWUB, WUBDUBDUBDUB, DUMDUMUMDUM, WUBWUBWUBWUB!
Seems like a great ide afor a mod (suggest this there, too) and I would use it, along with some other combat mods. However, I'm not sure if it would fit into vanilla Minecraft. You know, too many bars.
Yeah. I used the bubble part to shorten the amount so it wouldn't crowd the screen. So if you can tell me, is the bar part wrong or something else?
I don't like the possibility to make camo leather armour, but all other idea's are really cool! Finally another thread wich has been made with a lot of effort! I hope you are epic enough to even add pictures in the future, and I hope your suggestion becomes a hot topic!
I'll work on some textures!
Remember, the camo won't completely let you go invisible, just look like your surroundings more.

I like most of the other things, but I'm still on the fence on if it would fit vanilla. The ideas themselves are really good and well-presented, though.
Also, I vote for replacement of the Stamina and Visibility bar with visual effects. Instead, the more your stamina increases, the more your Sword starts shaking. Also, the more your Visibility decreases, the more the screen's sides will begin getting darker (there would still be enough view for the player.
Ah. I see. I actually like that. Maybe add breathing noises for stamina, the faster you breath the more you loose? The bars would better represent it but those ideas are quite nice. Also here is a texture for the ownership tag. If someone tells me how to make it bigger I will put it on the OP.

Well, not just particles, it would be like walking in stillstanding clouds just above sealevel. But I just suddenly got a better idea, this doesn't happen around lakes, it happens at places where water is flowing, the more water is flowing at the same place, the more fog is created around it.
Well, more like heated water like in swamps, therefore showing water vapor.

The concept of this thread looks really good, but you should make the layout look more like one of those 1000+ supporters threads, otherwise people won't get interested in your topic so easily.
I tried my best this time. Thou shalt study and thou shalt watch. Thou shalt addith more information... ith.

This probably won't fit but: When you stand on leave blocks for over 5 seconds without walking across it, you'll slowly sink in the leave block/blocks. You can jump many times to slowly get up above the leave blocks again. You can breathe inside leave blocks. This way you can hide and spy in for example a tree!
Not bad. How about it is related to a carpet, so leaves have a hitbox like that, aka you can stand on the lowest leaf. It might work, but it could change a lot of things.

And you were talking about water vapor, could water vapor also be made by placing a lava block with a massive block (just like dirt or stone or whatever you want) and then a water block on top of it? This would be good for 2 things, as it could serve as an enhancement for the landscape as well as for hiding in.
You are quite clever with these ideas. How about if there is any general source of heat such light levels? This mists it up and day and turns it off at night. Either that or if there is like you said, mainly lava, a torch, glowstone, whatever right under it.

Yeah, you can train them now by crafting a training tag, which stops them from getting mad at you. More explained in the section iteself.

Want to play Minecraft SSP like Spaceboot1? Try my modpack, all mods made by me, Spaceboot1!
Remember, the camo won't completely let you go invisible, just look like your surroundings more.
I'll add a part about raining.
That would be a good idea, but I feel like it'll get really annoying after a while.

Some misty, transparent particles hang around the biome area?
Yeah that could work.
