I have a new enchantment. This would have a new enchanted book, also. This is for the boots.
This would be the spider footing enchantment.
It can be upgraded to 7. It would allow you to walk on walls. Oh, and don't give the ol' griefing argument. It doesn't work on me.
1-walk on walls for 5 blocks before falling down.
2-walk on walls for 10 blocks.
3 walk on walls for 20 blocks.
4-walk on walls for 25 blocks.
5-walk on walls for 35 blocks.
6-walk on walls for 40 blocks.
7-walk on walls infinitely.
I know it sounds a little OP. But here's my balance. This is a rare enchantment to begin with. And for each enchantment number, the rarity doubles.
This could be awesome for sneak attacks and cool tricks. If you jump while on a wall, you'll jump away from it. The only thing is, that it is like spiders. If you hit a ceiling while walking on a wall, you won't be able to go any farther up.
I hope you like my idea! Please give feedback, and check out my others suggestions. Thanks for reading!
I support, this would be awesome! However, I think the levels should go like this:
1-walk on walls for 3 blocks before falling down.
2-walk on walls for 5 blocks.
3 walk on walls for 10 blocks.
4-walk on walls for 15 blocks.
5-walk on walls for 20 blocks.
6-walk on walls for 25 blocks.
7-walk on walls infinitely
And I agree, it should be boots.
The only thing with that is that if it that low for 1, then it wouldn't even be worth it except for cool tricks.
Not bad but I can't comment on the rarity unless I had an exact odds of getting the enchantment (at level 30). Depending on the base rarity many of these might be considered downright impossible. For example, if the rarity for the first level is 1 in 10, the rarity for level 7 is 1 in 640.
I also think 7 levels is a bit too much, I would rather see it with 2-3 levels, and each level unlocks an additional perk instead. I would also rather it be counted by total time on a wall, rather than blocks moved on the wall (to prevent someone running 29/30 blocks up a wall and just standing there with a bow). This is how I would do it:
Level 1: Can walk for 7 Seconds on a Wall. Cannot jump or use items, taking damage makes you fall.
Level 2: Can walk for 15 Seconds on a Wall, Can jump, but not use items, taking damage makes you fall.
Level 3: Can walk for 30 Seconds on a Wall, Can jump and use items, do not fall from taking damage.
That way it is never infinite, but if you get the maximum level you can place a block on a wall, run on top of it, then run up the wall further. It causes a natural break in your running action that forces you to think strategically. Also, using the double rarity for each level and going off my 1 in 10 baseline, level 3 would be a 1 in 40 chance.

I don't know. I mean no offense, but I think I like mine better. And since you don't like the infinite, it wouldn't be bad if it was 640. Sorry, but I think I'm going to keep it this way for now.

No problem, I figured as much. Just thought I would pose an alternative.

Great idea, one suggestion I have though would be for the boots you wear to lose durability when you climb. Then if you get the spider footing enchant on boots it wouldn't be as overpowered as you lose durability for climbing. This wouldn't make it too weak though as there are always anvils and the repair cost would be worth climbing on walls.

I changed it for boots. Just a question, do you support? I don't want to seem like I'm milking for support, but do you support?
