I stinkin love baby zombies. They are fine as they are. They are rare! If you don't like em, just go in your house and sleep through the night instaid of risking the thing you point out when you press shift. I happen to be the kind of guy who stays safe, and only goes out if he knows he is ready, instaid of thinking that nighttime is a day on the beach. Nighttime is dangerous. Baby zombies are fine as they are. But I think I might agree with the burning in sunlight thing, but everything else, deal with it.
Baby zombies don't need a nerf. They're fine as they are.
Imagine that you're in a cave mining yaddyada. You come up you look it's night "No big deal my house is over there" you walk to your house killing the mobs in your way but then a baby zombie comes and starts beating you up you look around and you realize that it's that little thing beating the crap out of you and you try to hit it away but guess what. It comes back as soon as it gets hit and you die.
I support this 100%

I hope you're not serious. Baby zombies? A menacing madness terrorizing Minecraft? If you ask me they may be Buffed. They don't burn in daylight? That IS kind of contradictory to normal zombies. They dont give your gear back when picked up? A common bug. But i never have trouble with the little things. Its also only natural they run faster that adult zombies. I am fine with their high speed. And for Hardcore worlds? I don't understand either.
All you have to do is click at the zombie and it will knock back a bit for you to hit again and again.
My biggest problem with the baby zombies is that they don't burn in the daylight and are therefore DEADLY to villages. I had several villages on one of my maps that I used to trade with. Each one is a ghost town now. I showed up at one of them and arrived near nightfall, so of course there was a zombie invasion. Everyone was safe in their homes. The sun came up. The zombies burned, except for the NUMEROUS BABIES that were still running around. Then, to my HORROR, all the town villagers all decided that since the sun was up that it was time to go outside. They were slaughtered because I couldn't keep up with the babies chasing them everywhere!
The baby zombies completely break villages.

I never complain about something that makes the game hard just because it makes the game hard. This just doesn't make sense. It's one of the things I hate in games, tiny things being really strong for no reason. I'm worried about game balance here, not difficulty.
Make them burn in daylight at least. If you ask for my full solution to balance it, it is to make the adult zombies (but not the babies) just barely take any knockback from attacks. You would have to retreat as you hit them! The little guys would still take normal knockback but would be faster. That would make things interesting by making the fighting strategies different for baby and adult zombies.

I never thought of that since I always wall up the villages very carefully, but this is also a huge problem. Man, I thought the NPC villagers would actually fight when provoked when I was all excited for 1.8beta :/
They don't spawn randomly, they have a very controlled spawn condition - if player x (x = you) is being a boring old chap and sitting around in his base all day every day, we need to make the game harder or he will
a) get bored,
or
have life too easy
So what happens is the game spawns more powerful mobs. More armour, baby zombies, you get the idea. If you actualy read the patch notes, you'd have known.
Ironically, whenever I'm sitting still in my base, it's because I WANT zombies to spawn... in my zombie trap... which drops them right down into an enchanting room to be killed.
I find it quite stupid how a smaller version of a zombie can't burn in sunlight, moves faster than normal zombies AND does as much damage as them. Their damage needs to be decreased and they should burn in sunlight.

To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.

You all know something? Baby zombies are almost the same thing as spiders.
1. They don't burn in the daylight
2. They are very quick
3. They are only one block tall
4. They both do similar damage
So the point I'm trying to get at here, is that instead of whining about the zombies on the forums, just employ the strategy that you have been using on spiders to baby zombies.
I hate them Because they CAN spawn in EASY difficulty!
Easy difficulty is supposed to easy.. but Dinnerbone ALWAYS makes mobs harder and harder
and some new harder features Like Baby zombies CANNOT be controlled by difficulty setting.
That's one of the reason why I hate 1.6.2. Mobs are out of control..!
I think the baby zombies are a challenge. I don't mind them, and I think its fun when they attack. My only complaint about them is that they do not give any experience orbs!
Meh they are annoying, I get slaughtered by them all the time, their spawn rate isn't rare or even uncommon.
I think Jeb;Dinnerbone, really must of been drunk when making this thing :L

Spiders don't attack at daylight, and they're slower and much bigger than baby zombies. They also drop stuff when you kill them and don't pick up your weapons when you drop them.

An alternate timeline emerges.

I guess you have my support, though, they are annoing.
Ever get tired of squids? Support dolphins in Minecraft!
Baby zombie can spawn on any difficulty other than peaceful! (tested in singleplayer)
