yeah, maybe chests with cool items (armour tools weapons...etc) and well...maybe underground "jail" where iron golems and 3 villagers are trapped in some kind of a cage (made of iron bars O' course) but it should be really deep so you wouldn't hear any sounds from the surface...
I really like this I have an idea to add. There should be a small hut made out of dirt like 3x3x3 and there should be villager inside. Above the door there is a sign that says "help".Outside there is a sign that says "Please help rebuild or town" next sign " I'll get you to my nearest village" then when your done rebuilding the town you get the villager to follow you through the village. When he knows it is rebuilt he takes you to a hidden chest . It had a special book with a code ( each town has a different code). You follow the villager to the nearest village. When you get to a blacksmith or whatever you wanna trade with you give them the book and they give you there stuff. Such as three free items. 100% support

Thank you for the suggestions. The chest idea would contradict with the previous idea about the blacksmith's chest being empty, so I don't really think that can happen. However, I do like the jail idea, but sort of different. Instead of it being a jail, have an underground shelter somewhere beneath the village, where a few lone survivors would be. I think if there was a refugee house already, this wouldn't be possible, and vice versa. The chances would have to be 50/50 between this and the refugee house.

Thank you for the support and the suggestion. I'm not really sure this fits in to the idea of Abandoned Villages, maybe if they implemented quests into Minecraft? (I know there's a thread out there that's really popular about it) The point of these villages is pretty much just to add variety and a challenge to villages, and this seems sort of out of place. But still, thank you very much for the support and your suggestion.
This would be very interesting. Maybe you could even add signs that the village tried to fight back, with bits and pieces of iron golems, dropped wooden swords, or even the the Church being especially wrecked when they tried to hide inside it.
May? It will be cool. But thank you for the partial support.
The only reason that I didn't give full support is due to the complete absence of villagers. I would be pretty disappointed if I found a village with no villagers, and Zombie Villagers are very hard to tame. Villagers are what make villages cool.

This is the second time in three days that I saw this suggestion. No support.
Are you referring to the Abandoned Houses thread? In my opinion, this is better (no offense to the other thread, I also think that it's a cool idea), as it's just improving upon what is already there, instead of making something brand new. Or if you mean that literally, you have seen this thread two times, then I'm sorry?

Thank you for your support! Maybe if the village was able to spawn Iron Golems, that could happen, for wooden swords, villagers don't really fight back as it is :P, and for the Church idea, that would be a cool idea, have them worshiping and praying for their lives and then getting blown up by creepers, or eaten by zombies.

Well, I'm sorry if you don't like it, but that's pretty much the point. Even if there were no villagers, it would still be pretty cool to come across a village and see the destruction it went through before you made it there.
Not every single change has to be "useful." There have been many changes to Minecraft that have been purely for aesthetics. And it actually is useful for making villages a little bit more interesting and challenging.

I like both of these, thank you. The cobwebs, definitely. And maybe a new block called "Cracked Sandstone," just like Cracked Stone Brick.

Thank you. Maybe the torches could be missing in a zombie village, as the light would bother them.
Thank you!
I'd work with the refugees to attempt to rebuild.
