I have went near dense forest for one day, and compared it to Minecraft forest. Feeling is utterly interesting, with "haunted", unaware school and basketball court(with people playing) were inside.
Plants and huge, dense nettles were growing nearby, inside forest. Several paths also appeared visible. Small holes appeared. Now I want everything in minecraft
The "Light Forest" is a new, much more real biome. It has inside "organization" - in the middle/"corpse" of the forest trees standing, separated with paths, and in corners, arrays of plants and holes.
Those trees aren't "normal" either - their leaves are visible, but loose and you can pass through them. They are likely "air" but visible. 7 new blocks, 2 new mobs and several entities, new tree heights, and branch organization.
Blocks:
Hole Block
Hole blocks are dirt blocks with tiny "pit" inside. it is also changing your height; extremely rarely moles spawn on these holes. How it works: like 2x2x1 stair patch but minimized to 1x1x1, so you stand inside and lower.
To make hole blocks you must Right-click on dirt with spade, and only dirt, no mycellium and no grass. It will use 1 spade durability.
Usage: For marking something, and for mole farming and griefing, using moles, and several types of traps with cobweb. Drops: Dirt.
Bottle on the Stick block
Sound makers are bottles, mounted on sticks. They are making sound. Moles are afraid of sounds.
Q: why do we need sound block, we have note block? A: we need them for easy talking with moles, without redstone as it require caves to be entered or mineshafts to be made/found. Why not to make it easier with glass bottle on a stick? Also it scares away silverfish while Note Blocks dont do so.
To craft them you must use:
B
S
B - empty bottle, S- stick.
Usage: for scaring away Silverfish and Moles.
Nettle
the most evil block of this biome. Equal to cactus in deserts. Is green. Once you contact you get poison I for 5 seconds. Nettles cannot kill you unless you stand in nettles for 20 seconds(sure, no wise man will do this unless trapped). Also it knocks you away by 1 block. Also it does NOT destroy items, possibly causing trap owners to claim loot as own. Damages everyone but:
Magma cubes
Skeletons(including wither version)
Ghasts, Wither, Blazes
Moles
Bees
Slimes
undead such as Zombie and PigZombie are damaged but no knockback, making effective zombie machines.
They cannot be made and can be only found. They can be passed if you use Mass Boost as they won't knock you.
Also, when mobs pass through them they have 0,1% chance to be damaged: they turn into:
lightly trampled
severely trampled
remains of nettles.
Remains of nettles do not damage anyone, but can be regrowed using bonemeal.
Usage: Traps, Directing mobs(but with damage) and for making cure.
Cure: 1 salve leaf(salve drops 2 leaves) and 1 Plant leaf - craft with bottle of water(without brewing table) and drink. It gives you 2 hearts and 1 heart boost. Also it gives you mass boost, decreasing knockback.
Loose leaves
Normal leaves but not as dense and you can pass through them. Normally drops branch(you can craft it into stick and plant leaves) but with shears it drops loose leaves.
Crafting: put 4 branches in crafts table or cut it down with shears.
Usage: Hiding something like cactus, dispensers. Also you can make forest camouflage with it. But only on this biome mobs will not attack you.
Path Dirt Block
path blocks are dirt blocks with grass unable to grow on it. Found in Light Forests.
Crafting: put dirt in furnace to make insides dead and unliveable. Usage: Blocking grass. Also this is ONLY block mobs(also hostiles) spawn on it, making it a bit more dangerous. Creepers also spawn. When in Light Forest is night, avoid paths as dangerous mobs can spawn here.
Swamp mud block.
Swamp mud block is mud which treats you equally like soul sand, but you can submerse in it. Moving is slowed to soul sand moving speed. You can drown easily here. Avoid these blocks. It also increases growth rate of farmland. Can be passed through.
Also, pigs like mud.
This can be carried with bucket but spread and decay slower than lava.
Q: well, we do not want our swamps to drown us! They have enough threats.
A: I did not mean whole swamp but only "mud lakes" and corner of lakes. By the way, swamp lakes slowly degrade to mud pits.
Crafting: Use shovel with mud. Also you can use dirt with 3 water bottles just like book and you make mud.
Also use bucket to make bucket of mud.
Normally drops: Nothing(just like snow)
Usage: Drowning and slowing traps as well as boosting crop fields.
Plant block.
Plant blocks are just random plants with leaves. Drops leaves. Can be passed trough. Drops leaf and seeds.
Crafting: Just carry plant seed and place on dirt.
Behavior: They spread seeds on dirt, making plants to grow on them.
Usage: hiding cacti if green is nearby, making green ambience. Leaves are cure ingridients.
Items:
Camouflage armor:
can be made in style with any other armor. It is made out of Camouflage coating. It is somewhat between leather and chain armor. But in LIght Forest biome chunks no mob is going to attack you if you wear full gear, unless you attack someone, wear not full gear(example, helmet or pants are missing). Enemy will pursue you in smaller distance. And after ceasing pursuit will get neutral. For example, skeleton can pursue without camo 16 blocks. With camo it decreases to 10 blocks - shooting range. If you are sneaking it decreases even further - to 5 blocks and if sprinting - 14 blocks of clear view. So to avoid skeleton in Light forest, forest, swamp, jungle hill or Jungle biome(this camo protects here only), go with camo and hide beneath obstacle so he turns neutral.
Camouflage Piece:
used to make camouflage. Combine 4 branches in your 2x2 carriage crafting grid, and you have pieces with whom you can make camouflage armor.
Cure:
cure gives you 1 heart boosting, cures poison, also boosts your mass and heals by 2 hearts. Pretty awesome!
Crafting: combine 1 salve leaf and 1 plant leaf with 1 water bottle.
Hair:
dropped by moles and foxes, hair can be used to repair camouflage armors and to make swinging ropes. Also can be made into thick coat which will protect you from cold and has 1 half more armor point than leather tunic. Mobs and Entities:
Rope:
crafted using hair and leash. Can be shot into a Custom block such as fence, nether fence, iron bars, or other and can attach to them. Pick block to mount and dismount. Use Jump to climb and Sneak to decrease height, and use Front to swing front, Back to swing back, Left/Right to swing to sides... Can be made into Swings and Double Rope. Best swing is when you swing in one side, then opposite and again in one side and then jump.
Double Rope(Line):
crafted using two ropes, Used to travel between tops. Can be shot to fence, nether fence, iron bars and such blocks. Firstly to make double rope line - shoot it to one fence then to another to create line. You can alternatively shoot it to animal, making moveable line. Plus if its fenced in pen/maze, you can be safe about animals. while your friend can use wheat/carrot/seed to lead animal you may mount on line using right-click.
Lined animals never despawn. Ultimately, you can use line to 2 animals, making it totally moveable.
Use front to travel front in line, and back to travel backwards, no other controls.
Sticky rope:
One of the most useful things. Crafted with hair and slimeball. Can be shot into anything except Air and Fluids(also mud), Even attaches to plants, loose leaf or nettles. Use like normal rope: Pick block to mount/dismount, direction controls to swing, climb rate is controlled by jump/sneak. Use right click to dismount with taking the rope with yourself - you can ultimately reattach in mid air like Spiderman!
Mole:
a brown, hairy mob with size of silverfish, which is creating holes in dirt and farmland, even if farmland is with plant. Has 2 hearts. Drops hair.
Fox:
orangeish brown mob, sized to wolf. If smells blood(someone was attacked), Fox attacks. Never spawn on paths. it is the only neutral-to-hostile mob which spawns in Light forest. Cannot be tamed.
Mob spawning: Moles spawn in their holes. They also hide in holes, adding data to hole(but not making it tile entity). Foxes spawn anywhere in light forest. Be aware not to fall or be hurt as fox will attack. Damage and attack style is the same like wild wolves. If fox has fallen, other foxes finish her off.
Other MInecraft hostile mobs spawns only on pathes, but still are very rare.
Normal spawn in night: 100%
Spawn on path: 10%(Foxes never spawn on paths)
Spawn not on path but in Light Forest: 0%.(Fox - 100%)
Creeper and arthropod spawning on path: 2,5%
You can see undead is 4 times as common on pathes as spiders and creepers.
Also, in this biome, trees are much higher, instead of max 7 they use max 16. Their stems can be split into 2 separates, and you can jump them such way. Forms loose leaves, beware, if you high, not step on them.

No, well-detailed biome.
Although good ones would be nice... this one just doesn't float my boat, if you catch my drift.
