My idea is to create at simple mob made completely out of netherrack. It is shaped just like your own character's skin and 99% of the time is embedded into the netherrack cavern walls, making them almost impossible to see. If if you happen to swing your pick at them by accident, they will jump out of the wall and attack you with stats near or at that of endermen. They do not, however, share the teleporting ability of endermen. They can also occasionally jump out at you on their own if you come within 4 blocks of them, but this would not be a very common event.
Please tell me what you think. Thanks for reading!
Well, yeah... If you see and experience the same thing over and over again, it's gonna become less scary...
Which would just be another new thing people find interesting until they get bored of that too.
Remind me to of stay out of Netherrack caverns then. The stats are too much if close to an Endermen. They'd have about 40 hitpoints and would deal some pretty serious damage. At least with Endermen, you can make the careful choices to avoid them. With your new mob however, it's not as easy to avoid and can turn into constant unfun paranoia moments because it's "almost impossible to see".
So they're not just provoked by hitting them, they can constantly pop out at you on their own? I'd sure hate to fight a ton of these things because the game just so happened to make them all blend in with Netherrack, a resource that is so unspeakably common in the Nether. Not to mention you gave them Endermen-like stats so fighting a bunch of them could be a never ending task that just gets bigger and bigger, because I never see them hiding in the infinite supplies of Netherrack. No support.
The Unofficial Suggestion Guide - Everything you need to know to not make goofy mistakes in a suggestion! Honestly though, you should really go there.
1. Your post is longer than my entire thread. Lol.
2. Turn on peaceful mode or stay more than 5 blocks away from walls if you think it's too challenging for you. Some of us like challenges.
3. Endermen are super easy to kill. Just hit them with a sword and do a 180° turn when they teleport and hit em again until they die.
Man you're a wimp.
I have some support, but Minecraft already has 2 seriously damaging surprise mobs (Creeper and Enderman), so my suggestion is to nerf the popping-out ability.
Jordyn ❖ Female ❖ 14 ❖ Taken ❖ Artist ❖ ♏ ❖ Virginiastuck ❖ Whovian ❖ Nerdfighter ❖ Bro
Please elaborate.
And to be perfectly honest, the only time I have ever been scared in the nether was in hardcore mode on a 1 wide bridge of rack. This mob also fills no niche. What is their PURPOSE? What is there to GAIN from clearing them out of your caves?
You need to think a topic through completely before you post.
Think that wither swords in game would be cool? post here! http://www.minecraft...her-sword-drop/
What dont you undersand about hardcore, its hard all the time. With one life...

Lol.
This mob should be called the Nether Crook.
1.) lol funny
2.) And there's the evidence that proves you don't think about the things you say all the way through. There's a difference between a challenge and a paranoia-induced event that you can hardly avoid. "Turn on peaceful mode or stay from Netherrack even though it pretty much makes up the Nether" is a stupid response.
3.) Yeah cool. But not every player is gonna agree with that. Not every player thinks the same way as you.
How about no? The Blaze already does this.
Which would one of the worst mob names of all time.

Huehuehue. It's called detailed criticism. Take advantage of it instead of trying to laugh it off.
Herp derp.
Saying "lol turn on peaceful mode" is a dumb way to defend a mob idea. If your mob is balanced enough, then we won't have to suddenly switch to peaceful mode just to avoid this one mob. "Some of us like challenges"? 10 out of 10. There's a difference between an actual challenge, and some half-baked mob that happens to blend in with a common Nether block that you can hardly avoid or prepare for, because the game just keeps spamming these against Netherrack. Think before posting. Think.
Yes, because everyone else in the world shares the exact same opinion on killing Endermen. No support. Really bad idea, sorry.
well i think that the nether is really bland right now and could use more stuff.
the endermen-like stats are a problem however.
you make good points but be warned as this type of hurtful critisism can dissapoint a newer user *cough* more arrows *cough cough*
And? The key letter there is "I". Sure, you might think the Nether is bland but the rest of the world might not agree.
And why in the living hell should I care about new users I disappoint? That doesn't concern me, and has no reason to. The thread you made was redundant and oversuggested, and got locked because of it. Had you took some time out of your day and used the search button, you could have avoided all of it. So yeah, I'm not exactly at fault there, and it's not something I'm gonna feel bad about.
