SO;
I heard that the Allocator( or at least a variant of it) is making it into Vanilla in 1.5. (Congrats, Pfaeff.)
I just thought up some other machines to go with that, and a tweak to an existing one. Here goes:
The Deployer:
It right clicks with a equipped item when powered with redstone. It only has one inventory slot, though, so no arrow shooting. But it CAN:
Use flint and steel to light fires for self igniting portals;
Drop minecarts onto tracks for automated stations;
Place redstone for a redstone->obsidian converter;
Drop anvils on people's heads;
Etc, etc.
To go with that:
The Dispenser should be tweaked to not dispense liquids or minecarts. I find this somewhat counter intuitive and annoying; when setting up a dispenser system to gear up myself quickly, I would expect and prefer to get a bucket of water and not a shower of said water. Or worse if it's lava. It'd be redundant once the Deployer is in, anyway.
The Breaker (or The Drill)
This one breaks blocks. There's two ways this can work:
When it receives a redstone signal, it breaks the block and spits the item behind itself
OR
When it recieves a constant redstone signal, it imitates holding left click with a equipped item(i.e. it swings the equipped sword, pickaxe, etc.)
The first way is simple and intuitive and never breaks itself. The second way needs to have it's tool replaced regularly, but it can harm mobs(with a sword) and use enchanted gear. I'll set up a poll for this.
Either way, it can:
Mine cobble for an automatic cobble generater
Act as a gravel mil in combination with the Deployer.
Kill mobs in a mob tower, without having to design a lava blade that won't burn some of the drops.
The Automated Crafter
It automatically crafts things. I'd imagine it would work like Tubestuff's Automatic Crafting Table Mk.2; You'd set up a recipe in a crafting GUI, with separate buffers for ingredients and results. It'll automatically try to craft if it has all the ingredients necessary (The ones used to set the recipe don't count).
It probably should also be fueled somehow. Maybe with coal? I'll set up another poll.
This can automate factories for anything craft-able. Say you want lots of arrows quickly, like in a war? You can now automatically craft sticks, use a gravel mill (see above, Breaker) to get flint, and get feathers from an automated chicken farm, then craft that together into arrows. Rail production can also be automated like this, and considering what else the Redstone Update holds, we're going to need a lot.
Note: Before you call "wish list", all the above machines work best together. Certainly Deployers and Breakers work best in tandem; automated redstone->obsidian converters and farms need both to work. Automatic Crafters, not so much; but they work best with allocators, to form assembly lines.
Also; Yes, this has been suggested before. The problem is that all the other threads about this are either locked or old enough that posting on one would constitute a necro. Better to start anew.By the way, does anyone know how to set up a poll? I can't seem to find the button anywhere.

You claim to be the master of ideas, but this doesn't fit your title. If anything, the deployer's tasks should be added to dispensers, dispensers dropping anvils and such. Dispenser is fine as it is, it won't hurt you to take a minute out of your life to grab a bucket. The breaker is far too overpowered. "Sure, let's add a toll that can be made with basic materials to break everything! Hey, lets make it a god while were at it, and have it be enchantable too!" Automatic Crafter is just laziness. Actually, everything on here is just laziness. Tools that do work for you, so you can sit back and get bored much faster. I hope your slave-machines rise up against you, because these ideas are bad.

I didn't say that. I said that it could either just break something, OR use a tool to break something, depending on how you respond here.

I hope your slave-machines rise up against you, because these ideas are bad. Not lazy, labor-saving. There's plenty to do without having to remine gravel for flint, collect items from mob towers, craft lots and lots of rails for a railway project, etc, etc.
I like the idea of the destroyer. I think it should work slightly differently, though. There should be a spike block, that, like anvils, breaks after a certain amount of use. The spike block is attached to piston heads. The spike block should be craftable from wood, iron, stone, or diamond. When the piston activates, if the spike block hits another block, it destroys it, provided that a tool of the same material could destroy the block and harvest its resource. For instance, a wood spike can destroy wood and stone, an iron spike can destroy ore blocks, and a diamond spike can destroy obsidian. If the material in front of a spike is too strong for it (such as obsidian in front of a wood spike), the piston won't move.
Still overpowered? It's not like you could set one of these up deep in a mine so you could go faster. Instead, they require a lot of resources and automation to create an efficiency boost.
I totally disagree with jpmrocks; this is not about laziness at all. Automation in minecraft, like automatic farms, minecarts, and breeding are for tasks that you have to do a lot. They require a lot of initial labor but are worth it in the end. And it's certainly a lot better than grinding for everything.
I like the idea, but I want the breaker to use tools and weapons (flint and steel, sword, buckets) rather than just making it break blocks. It could work like that too.
The deployer should place blocks, boats and minecarts, regardless if they're above rail or water or not. Ditto.
I guess that the automatic crafter is good, but only if you can put things into it automaticly; They're adding allocators in too. Presumably they'll do that.
I want a fourth device would be a "Collector" which takes things that are dropped and sends them through a pipeline, to furnaces, chests and automatic crafters. Ditto.

I like this idea, but their should be pipes (although that isn't a good name for it). They should carry any item that touches them and drop it off at the end. Also, their should be a sorter that sends items different ways. It would have a GUI with 4 spaces arranged in a + shape (with the middle missing). If you put an item in a spot, it will send any item of the same type that comes to it through a pipe in that direction. Items not put in the + shape will just continue along in the direction they came from.

Why does everyone think I don't have an avatar? Is there anyone who can see the one black pixel.
Please click the dragons, they need to grow. Also, my fully grown dragons can be found in my bio.

So, conveyer belts?Guys, I found a help topic that says there should be a "manage poll" button somewhere on this page. Can anyone give me hints as to where?

A simple solution to this is place a solid block in front of the dispenser, if powered in this manner it will shoot out the item instead of the entity.

...That could work, although wouldn't it have to check for a block in front every time it fires? Sounds a bit Laggy.
Only the deployer and the dispenser liquid method. Everything else is overpowered.
Explain how they are overpowered?
Blockbreakers will either just break the block in front period, or will have to use a "drill bit".
I did suggest autocrafting requires fuel.

Do you know how to set up a poll?
Thanks for all the criticism, lads.
if Items fall on top of it they go to a *storage* area
when the set recipe is made the Item pops out (or though a pipe)
it then repeats.
so for a massive mining operation make a pick axe creator =D
