I know a lot of people will complain about having to explore to find a Witch Hut after having already seriously explored their Seed, so I came up with an idea that already has several precedents in MineCraft. Have it assembled. We already assemble Nether Gates, Snow Golems, Iron Golems, NPC Housing, and soon the first "Utility Boss" the Wither. So how about if you make a house without doors in the right Biome that Witches occassionally spawn inside? This would also run the risk a few Creepers and insufficient building materials causing Witches to attack from inside your village, but this is the "Pretty Scary Update" afterall.

If regular is Vanilla then what flavor is your Minecraft?
"We have not forgotten this. Don't forget that we have also changed the terrain generation once for 1.4, for carrots!
Due to the way the code works, witches will likely spawn in older maps's swamps even without a hut there. It's a bug that I'm calling a feature for the next 30 seconds. You'll have all the fun of witches, with none of the hassle of having to raid their loot and stuff!"
That doesn't really make sense. Witches are sentient creatures, why would they be player created?

No, there has never, ever been a sandbox game with a story or ending... except Grand Theft Auto... and Saints Row... and Red Dead Redemption... and Crack Down... and Assassins Creed...
Actually I don't mean that you assemble the Witches, just their huts. You would build the hut to spec in the right biome (Swamps definitely with suggestions of others) and wait for them to spawn in it. Think of how you build a Testificate house to increase their population. These will probably be without doors. Another way to explain it is that you're baiting the Witches. Slime farms use similar principles, but are biome non-specific and probably rarer in the end.

Your still not seeing the problem. Witches are supposed to be intelligent (and, by implication, idealogical) people. Having the player build houses for them completely breaks this image. Instead of witches being malevolent hermits it makes them into little more than neutral animals that are at the players mercy.

Yeah! I agree. Noch should make it so you can create your own witch huts. But what happens if you have a house in the swamp, It'll be a swamp hut to the game! "I open the door to see a bunch of potions flying to me!"

Why thank you. You've shown us another reason why player-made witch huts wouldn't work.

A witch hut is a technical biome (Very small, around 6x6x6 blocks, only generates in swamps). So if you have a valid swamp, then you'll get a witch biome, in which witches will spawn. You can test to see if you have a witch biome in your world by opening a copy of your seed in creative, going into a swamp, and finding a witch hut (But you might not even have one in your world though)
