Okay I know you guys have experienced decorating with grass and going to a different biome ruins the grass since the color is different. So my idea is, create grass seeds.
Wheat
Wheat could spawn in the wild but not in tilled soil because they are natural. Wheat can now grow in dirt and grass blocks but much slower.
Hydrated Farmland: Fastest
Dry Farmland: Fast Soil: Normal
Grass: Slow (Because the grass is also taking some of the nutrients that the wheat should take)
You can use bone meal
--So... Does that mean that wheat on soil is indestructable?
No. Wheat can also be destroyed by jumping on it. Making wheat on farmlands more delicate. Because there is only a small chance that the wheat will survive trampling, but the farmland has a small chance as well. That is why planting on soil makes the wheat less delicate but slower in growth.
Wheat can only spawn and planted 4 blocks near water if not on tilled soil.
(Why would I put wheat ideas? So tall grasses could drop grass seeds rather than wheat seeds)
Removed wheat being planted on soil and grass, but they can spawn on them
Tall Grass
Before, tall grass drops wheat seeds. But I want that changed. They will drop grass seeds and the grass seeds they drop vary on which biome they are in. (And if possible... a different kind of grass?)
For example:
Tall grass destroyed in mountain/tundra/taiga would drop Mountain Grass Seeds,
one destroyed in desert would give Desert Grass Seeds,
one destroyed in jungle would give Jungle Grass Seeds.
Tall Grass will drop 0-2 Grass Seeds unless destroyed with Shears or Silk Touch
(Tall Grass should also sprout on grass blocks exposed to full sunlight and there should be a dirt block under it, meaning the soil should be 2 deep in order to have a way to keep them from growing on places where you dont want them in)
Ferns
Ferns used to drop wheat seeds. But why cant they drop fern seeds? ferns are nice and they should be renewable.
Fern seeds can be planted on soil or grass but much faster on soil. However, you can also use bone meal to speed up growth.
When ferns are destroyed, they will drop 0-2 Fern Seeds unless you use Silk Touch or Shears.
(Ferns can also grow like Tall Grass can using sunlight. And it should be a jungle biome as well.)
Grass Seeds
Grass seeds have different types, depending on which biome
(If grass color is the same such as Mountain, Tundra and Taiga, there will only be one type for all of them)
Soil blocks with grass seeds planted on them will make them look like this: a normal soil block with the seeds on top, half-buried
It takes light and time for the grass to grow.
Planting grass
In order to plant grass seeds, you should right-click on a soil block with whatever grass seeds you are holding. Bone meal makes the grass grow instantly.
Yes, this will be a good substitute for silk touch since it requires 2 Diamonds (plus 3 for the pickaxe) and 4 Obsidian to get this.
--Can grass still spread?
Yes, but it will be easier to grow them in caves or on self-made floating islands now.
I believe the system for growing wheat is already good enough. The hoe is simple enough to do with your left over cobblestone anyways.
Read the entire thing. If the tall grass became Grass Seeds and the ferns become Fern seeds, where to get Wheat seeds then? (Not counting villages and other structures)
I like the whole idea except for the "growing wheat on grass and soil part." I was thinking maybe it could only appear on grass and dirt in the wild and you couldn't plant it on normal grass and dirt.

Yeah maybe we could just have that
