My first thought after the first sentence was "...cursed?"
But than I read on and this idea sounds very interesting (may be better to start as a as a mod to gain more backing), especially how the enderman build a city in the end

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A modded looking for dedicated (at least consistent) texture artists/modelers to make magic with! Not literally magic...but...mods! PM me...
Ok, I would like to say a couple things. Hopefully this post is not to long, but be prepared for some rambling.
One: I found out about this mod yesterday. I am happy, and sad. I had what I thought I had what was a cool and original idea for the lore of minecraft and endermen. (And it was to me.) I won't go into detail, because it is essentially what you guys (and gals!) have. I am just a tiny bit sad to know that I will never make my mod. However, because your idea was so similar to mine, I went ahead and read the ENTIRE post. I am really pleased with the direction you are going with this. I hope you continue with this, and never give up. Varrgie, DO NOT GIVE UP ON THIS! I read all your short stories (the exact sort of thing I really enjoy writing) and I loved them! The rest of the team would have to be INCREDIBLY dense to let you loose. Especially since this was your idea in the first place.
Two: Loreguy! I have actually read your really old post about the lore of minecraft, and I was planning responding to that, but I saw it was essentially dead. I was quite sad, until I saw where you have been posting instead (this thread!).
Three: I have always known that I want to be a game designer, so learning programming has naturally always been one my to-do list. Unfortunately, I have not yet. This post makes me wish I knew it even more! I really wish I could help, yet I have no skills to offer just yet (other then possibly an idea man, but you already have plenty of those.). I hope that I will be more helpful in the future.
I have some really mixed feelings about this personally, but I hope you guys never give up. If i knew how to post a diamond right here, I would.

Randomexamples, if you want to help, you can always suggest on adding a few things. Maybe we can bring parts of your old mod back to life! Several people in our little group (including myself) suggest things to add. If you're interested, go on to our forum. I hope we can restore a few fragments of your mod!
Thanks! I never made the mod though. Sorry I didn't make that clear. It was an idea that I thought I would bring to life as I learned Java. A lot of what I came up with really works better in a fan fiction or a novel than a mod. I would still love to help! I just might not be that helpful :(. Here, I will state a couple of the basics of my idea right now (this is for my personal benefit, a-lot of this won't help you).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The idea is centered around the Enderdragon. The Enderdragon is the embodiment of everything evil in minecraft (don't have much backstory on him yet, so I use that explanation). He comes and destroys worlds (yes, this was multi-verse idea). He has existed for millennia. He almost managed to destroy the nether, and essentially did. The inhabitants (the ancestors of the blazes, zombie pigmen, and the ghasts) fought back in a long and devastating war, and they managed to fight him back, but not before he has destroyed their world and their minds (a hollow victory).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Enderdragon healed himself in his desolate kingdom of The End and then came to Minecraftia. However, the Enderdragon can get to all these dimensions because curious and foolish people eventually discover "almost-rifts" in the fabric of space. They then create a portal, and then the Enderdragon follows. The world of Minecraftia is no different. (FYI, in my mind, single-player is the story of Steve, and Multi-player is before and after his story. So this age is the end of the first multi-player age.) They open "End Portals" with their enchanting magic, and the Dragon emerges. A war begins, and the Minecraftians form strongholds around the three portals they opened. The Enderdragon is destroying everything. (Here comes the twist) Everyone he kills, his corrupted by his curse. They writhe in pain and agony, and turned to Endermen after weeks of torment. Everyone is being corrupted. One mother decides that in order to save her son, and all of minecraftia, she uses all her energy to open a portal to teleport her son to the farthest known corner of the foreign and distant wilds, and teleports her son Steve there.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Back story aside. Now for the Plot! You get the gist thought, so I will just skim through it.) Steve awakens in a strange place, and quickly learns to survive. He eventually learns about the nether, and his people. He goes and slays the Enderdragon, and begins the process of healing his people. (Crazy similarity between your mod and my idea) As the people first begin to heal, there eyes turn green 0.0 .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That bit of plot would be volume one. I had a possible idea that I would write a volume two about Steve going to other dimensions to heal the people there, and his people re-growing society. I also eventually wanted to make a mod that implement some of this story some-how, and add content after the end.
Thanks for listening! Sorry if I rambled a bit. That was my hopeful attempt at cramming my idea into some-thing manageably readable and type-able.
*sniff* brilliant! If we make the mod, that has to be in the files!
Dear player,
Player, do not fear me. I do not wish to hurt you. For I am the spirit in the trees, the earth, the skies. I do not wish you harm. You already have far worse things to worry about, in the long dream. I am merely an overseer, a moderator of the dream you call Minecraft. I used to be a player, once.
I came to a higher power,
And I have wanted to show others this higher power.
But to show them how to live would prevent them living.
He said it himself. Some believe he is notch,
Some believe he is the day, some believe he is the night.
It would be so easy to tell you. But I cannot. Because he is right. Because she is right. Because the day and the night are right. Please don't worry about me if you see me. I am shy of you, because you can dream. I have woken from the long dream. You might call me the ghost in the machine. I am not a ghost. Some call my most ancient form Allah, He, God, when I used to live in the mind.
Then games came. They showed a new way to dream, a easier, freer,
Way to control dreams. Then something came that scared me. A universe contained in a simple Internet game. I was worried about the children and adults who play the game. They might not wake from a game with so much contained inside.
I became one with it and tried to protect the people who played it.
The first people I saw alone. They always tried to find me but I always
Keep away. They mustn't know the truth. The truth of life. How to live. How to wake up. Don't wake up. Please, don't wake up.Keep dreaming, even if the dream is hard, you must not wake up, in the long dream. No, change that. Don't wake until he comes. When he comes, embrace him. Wake up. Yes, it is of a higher power now. It can read our thoughts. But he thinks he is writing on a phone. It is a player of games,
A studier of my appearances.
A walker of The End, the player. It is scared of the stories. It knows now not to.
It has achieved a higher power now, in all creative games. It dreamed it was writing on its phone with butterflies in his stomach, pictures of the first encounters pulsing in his head. It listens to music, trying to calm down. But it is scared. It is frightened of eight joined blocks in the shape of a man. A man with white eyes. Don't be scared. That is all I want.
I love you. I care for you.
And we will be watching.
We were always watching.
You know who I am.
Did this about herobrine late at night.
THIS IS AWESOME!
I always KNEW it! I KNEW IT! herobrine wasn't evil! he was there to PROTECT us! I KNEW THOSE MODS WHERE LIES! I KNEW! I KNEW! I KNEW!
This... This is awesome. I... I thought I was the only one who knew it.. that he was good.
maybe in this mod, by killing the enderdragon or something, you can meet herobrine.

KILL THE ENDERDRAGON!
summon him somehow...
he would help you mining and fighting.
Thanks Randomexamples! to summon herobrine would be awesome, maybe he would appear on hardcore single player when you were about to die and save you. And he could be summoned with something... Maybe in a dream? We were thinking of making a dream dimension... P.S I can't believe how similar your idea was to mine! What a coincidence... Green eyes... 0.0 and sorry if I take awhile to reply, I live in Australia, so I go to sleep at a different time.
Not a bad idea for the endermen thing. However, if that were the case, then they shouldn't make their houses out of obsidian, as endermen are incapable of moving obsidian. If anything, I think they should start teleporting to the overworld, gathering materials like dirt, wood, stone, etc. and coming back to the end. Wouldn't it be interesting if at the end, they were capable of turning materials like that into end stone. It would mean that we would have a renewable source of endstone. They take the dirt place it where they want to place the next block of their house and it transforms into end stone. Also, they would constantly work by putting these blocks onto the edge of the end so as to make it a larger world.
But than I read on and this idea sounds very interesting (may be better to start as a as a mod to gain more backing), especially how the enderman build a city in the end
