This is a good idea, as I stated earlier (A full ass idea or something like that...). Pyramids and jungle temples are really repetitive, you get past the trap easily, because you know it's there. It's just the same thing over and over and over and over and over... I think I've made my point. They need to be bigger, with randomized tunnels and traps, so you won't know where to look or where to not look. The golden golem is an example of what needs to be done.

I love this idea. It would add a little challenge to pyramids and since it can't be crafted by players there's no pvp abuse. Nice job!

Perhaps it could only be tamable on single player, as a trophy or sign of achievement. Or maybe, it could be made but when made by the player they only act as an Iron Golem would, they would not attack any players unless provoked, they will gain a "neutral" status on them. The golem could be made using the normal T shape but the edge blocks are Gold blocks and the center one is a Lapis Lazuli block.
On top could maybe be a pyramid-only item perhaps, perhaps a new block you gain from the pyramid or killing a golem, or just a jack-o-lantern.
Maybe the neutral golem could have a green mark on it somewhere, to show it's neutral state?
I hope you consider the idea I suggested. You should also check out my scarab thread in my signature if you want, to add more of a "boss" feel, you can add it to your thread as I dont care about credit, just seeing it in the game.
I have considered making it Createable, It originally was, but then i realized that it would always in the end end in Disaster. And i saw the Scarab thread, quite well done i think.
Congrats on the name change. Hopefully we'll see some more motion. My main question for now is: What if we change pyramids completely, forcing them to spawn NPC villages, adding the golem, and more traps? All in all, the more I think about it, the more I think the golems should only be part of a trap since they are easily beatable and easy to get past.
That brings me up to a good point. I know a few modders. I can ask a few of them to work on a Gold Golem (Pyramid Guardian...) Mod with this. With a little Forge and Turbo Model, along with some of the code included in the new mobs in the snapshot (bats for those of you unaware), this could actually become a very easy reality.
