Honestly, at first I thought this would be sort of dumb, until I read what it would be for. This is actually a really good and cool idea. I support it.
By the way, the drawing looks good.
Edit- If you ask me, it would give it a good Egyptian feel also.
Personally, I think this is a good idea, so that some newly spawned player cant just drop into a pyramid and have plenty of diamonds, also since pyramids are always the same, I think that pyramids should have a bit more vairity (like strongholds, but not as huge. Segments put together to lead to a singular "reward" point would make pyramids more interesting, instead of a big room, a couple coridors, and a big drop that leads to TNT.
Note that I never seen a pyramid firsthand, so this description may be inacurate.
Pyramids and other randomly generated structures have a lot of potential. I think this, or something like it should be implemented vanilla, if not a mod.
ooops! sorry about the quote thing, I gots itchy finger. but, anyway, I really like this idea and think it would be a great addition to the game. on the prospect of player-created gold golems, I thought they could just behave like tamed dogs. this would make it easier to not get beat into the dirt accidentally, and would add another mob to that 'tamable mobs' class that is forever empty. Notch and Jeb should totally look into this!
I saw this thread and thought, "Oh God, please no, please no, please no..."
But after reading it, it makes a lot of sense and I actually like it quite a lot!
There's a clear need for this kind of mob, as you don't want pyramids to be super-easy to break into to upset the balance of the game.
This fulfills that need without adding any kinds of new items to the game.
However, the only gripe that I have is that it looks too similar to the iron golem.
Currently, the snow golem and the iron golem look different. I think we should stick with that trend and not use the same head/body structure that the iron golem has.
I like this suggestion a lot. At first I was like, "Ah mah gawd, another golem suggestion", then I saw how it said "With Pictures" And I'm like, "Okay, I'll take a look" and then I liked it when I saw the suggestion.

Thats a good idea. Maybe an Anubis head or something.
The only thing I'm not too sure of is the appearance, but this appearance isn't so bad and a simple retexture in a texture pack would probably suffice as a fix for anyone unhappy with it. Also, in defending your idea from the judgment of usual golem suggestions, you became very redundant with "NO, YOU CAN'T BUILD THIS" "NO IT ISN'T SOME OVERPOWERED THING" "I REPEAT, THIS IS BECAUSE IT CAN'T BE BUILT." You could probably stand to tone that down a little, but I digress.
This is a well thought out golem suggestion and serves to add more content to the desert pyramids. I approve.
(Unrelated, but I wish the pyramids were more like actual pyramids. More pyramid-shaped with more rooms and traps.)
at first i thought it's ripoff of an iron golem. i realized that it makes sense to look similar (due to the fact that the testificates probably built them)
I like the idea of Golden Buffed up Terminator Guardians. One thing: It can target Creepers! (Because creepers might blow up the structure because of the PLAYER *glare) I also like the Lapis Idea: Blue looks good on Gold. Again, Mobs can trigger the destruction of the pyramid if they step on the pressure plate, so that needs improvement. U r a total genius thank you for suggesting it its gonna be OSM (except Notch might not accept the idea). But I see that the GOld golem has RED eyes in your drawing, I think that the gold golem should have BLUE EYES due to the fact that the gold golem is adorned and looks like its powered by lapis. (Also remember you said you liked lapis)
This is an amazing idea! Mojang should definitely add this because unlike most suggestions, this ACTUALLY works in the vanilla game
I was just thinking that. Mummies or undead pharoahs (spelling?) don't really seem to fit the Minecraft theme, while this does. I mean, it's sort of cool actually. You have all these legends about aliens supposedly visiting ancient mankind and teaching them how to create futuristic technology, so the same principle could be applied to Minecraft. Perhaps the golems are some form of automaton.
Haha, I'll take that rep and raise you an awesome thread

NOPE! Iron golems wont attack you right off the bat unless you attack a villager

Gold golems would attack players but iron golems don't. Unless I'm missing something.
Indeed, that is correct. what people don't get is that Mojang can change whatever they like in the end of things

Well it technically IS a mini Boss
(One of the downfalls of giving really bad criticism...)
You Got It For Me, Thank You.
