Well...who said the Mods are making the thread? And what do you mean by in a different way?
The mods aren't making the thread? I must've misread badprenup's post I guess.
In a different way as.. well this thread was very entertaining to read, and if the thread were to be redone in a more "formal" (in my book, mainly it means boring most of the time), it would have a much different impact.

There will be a new thread, but it's not specifically a mod thing. It's a group collab. BadPrenup is bringing together a bunch of authors to go and make a new thread. It will be more focused on what to do, or why not to do. It's taking a step away from "don't do this" to "here's some reasons why not to" in a very loose case. It's meant as a go-to for proper formatting and proper suggestions instead of a wall of shame.
You took that quote out of context. I was replying to someone (I forget who) that was saying taking away the satire would make the guide bad. I said that it would likely be a good balance, and probably end up as a great guide. I then added the bit about "Besides, a meh guide is better than one that offends players" which I still agree with.

There's a PM group with I think 22 people in it, including Badprenup, Sunperp, and Jefe I think? Might not be Jefe but there's an admin. You are allowed to join if you want, either you could ask Badprenup or we could. He stated in the PM that it would basically be open to anyone.

If you guys had a choice between me writing the new guide, or Cerroz. Who would it be?
Don't worry, my emotions will not change regardless of any answer. It's a win-win for me either way.
It's not fair, you're the one who practically created this thread, it's only fair if you make it or took at least most of the work done.
Though Cerroz would be a good choice, I somehow feel a lot comfortable with you working on the thread. Besides, aren't we all pitching in to help make it as well?

The content will likely be the same either way. It's basically just a title, and you obviously deserve the credit for what you've already done. So you. Although I'd be fine either way.

you should be the one to write it, after all you made it first.

Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — "No, you move

I think you kind of have an image as the creator, so I feel like you should make it again. Though I also feel like have Cerroz would also be good idea, because of the good reputation he has as a critic. Not saying you have a bad reputation, but a lot of people know him.

Since you're the original writer of the first one, I believe you should be the one to write it. However, I'd be perfectly fine with Cerroz writing it. Both of you would do a great job.

Wouldn't the content be the same, just a different primary editor? Really it's whoever wants to take up the responsibility of maintaining it, unless there's a way to share that responsibility by fiddling with the threads permissions. I feel like you should either way, because from what I've seen you've been doing a great job so far and you're somewhat of a poster girl for the whole how to properly compose a suggestion thing.
I still think this thread should stay. It was, and still is, the funniest guide I've ever read. Stuff like this don't fall out of your head easily.

I'd definitely like to keep it as well. It most likely will be locked instead of deleted (because who would ever delete 3 years of work?) and would be linked to the new guide.

Doubtful. Not that you'd remember, but take the OCT for example, everytime a new one came along, the other would be locked and left to be buried. What would be the point of having two guides pinned anyway?

A new suggestion is in the works, but it's gonna take some time and - like this guide here - might take years to refine and improve.

Wait, aren't we technically remaking the guide partly to make it nicer to people???
I'm almost completely inactive, in case you're trawling through really old threads and notice me somewhere.
