Back in the day, there was a blanked-out button that read, "Tutorial." Watching the XBLA demo, I had an idea of how to re-implement this.
It'd be a pre-made island, containing generally everything there is in the game, except for some obvious things... (Stronghold, possibly no villages) and will provide simple instructions as how to use things, and would contain a crafting-system similiar to the XBLA-crafting. There could be a Minecart track that leads around the island, with a stop at each area to teach the player. Somethings there could be include; A mine w/ abandoned mineshaft, a redstone area, a forest, a desert, river/lake
If you have anymore suggestions, just state them below.

An interesting idea, and one that I have thought should be in the game for a while, although I've never seen a thread on it that I can remember.
The only problem is one that I came across when I was trying to make a Minecraft Manual for one of my college classes. There's just so many things that can be done in this game that it's extremely difficult to make any kind of detailed guide besides the full Wiki. How much is the correct amount to cover?
