Okay, so... Endermen are easy, right? All you do is look at their legs, and keep on hitting that spot untill they die, right? Well, I was thinking this be changed. Endermen cannot get knocked back, unless you have the knockback enchantment on your sword, or you happen to be sprinting when you hit them. Every time you hit them, they would get faster. I also think they should get the AI update, to where they can get around trees. Or they can just teleport over large holes. And, if by some chance, it becomes daylight while you're running away, they would still teleport out of the daylight. HOWEVER, once it becomes night again, or you get deep enough, this same Enderman will teleport back to you. Like, for example, if you injured this Enderman, and it escapes from you, when it comes back to you, it would have the same HP. I know this makes Endermen the second hardest mob in the game, but come on... Right now, they seem more like annoyances than actual problems. Even once you do get to the point where you need to kill them to progress, they still seem more like annoyances.
i never kill enderman ever but when i find strongholds i look in them at night (so night is worth it) and when i find portals (quite often) i get out and kill enderman but i usually can't because it is almost day so i hit and they freaking teleport away and never come back and the next night i cant find any endermen this always happens i totaly agree with you
Technically, I'm not saying the fact that they teleport away is annoying, even though it is, but just the fact that it makes them a lot less scary is what I'm trying to get at.
Endermen are not scary, they're annoying, they NEED better AI, more power and every enemy mob in the game should be superior to the player in EVERY way!

I really like this idea. One thing that I thought of when reading this.
To make them even harder... Give them the ability to crouch! So they can walk through 2 block tall spaces. Their speed should be reduced when they crouch. But combine this with your "stalker" idea + new pathfinding AI + crouching. They would be deadly!
