Finally configured the post, made a signature. Also made a neat picture showing basics of this idea (many people misunderstood some details), and covering most frequently told problems or questions. Hope this helps.
Brilliant! Though I can think of a couple blocks that shouldn't have variations like wool. The cobblestone picture had a lot more depth than i thought like the world wasn't made of blocks o.O

Well yea, for example a crafting table, enchanting table but why not wool? it would keep it's color and brightness.
For things like wooden planks, this would be horrible. But for ores/stone/natural blocks I'd be fine with this, because 1 piece of stone usually will look different to the next in real life.

Is this horrible to you?
Yes these are 3 random textures, on default most of the changes would be minimal. But texture packs artists should do more variation with this.
This idea sounds okay but the pictures you showed us are what the texture pack artists are trying to avoid.
I can understand the problem on the ores but I'm concerned of the normal blocks.
If blocks show the repetitive pattern and you are able to notice it clearly, that's the artist's problem.
Other than that I support!
It might decrease performance, but the point I am trying to make is that it would increase data size while playing. On Single Player it wouldn't be a whole lot, but on Multiplayer, it can be a whole lot of data increase. That would increase the amount of stress on servers, and possibly make people improve their server, probably costing them more money.
Why would this idea put more stress on servers? It is only the texture pack, those aren't server specific you know? The server won't care that a client has random textures because it doesn't have to deal with that, the performance on the client computer though will be the problem.
I know that from using Random Mobs in Optifine that causes my frame rate to drop by 4-6, and that is only mobs, think about the game having to do that for every block.
(BTW: Even when using a texture pack that didn't have support for Random Mobs, the decrease in frame rate was still there.)
Of course, assuming you could turn this off, I wouldn't really care either way.

ragnarock200: awesome, are those things with the creeper faces pistons or furnaces

A perfect suggestion! I've had the same thought myself. It would make things look a lot more realistic/believable. Also, when you have every single texture of a certain block-type look the same, then when you zoom out, you see lots of odd-looking patterns that you shouldn't be able to see. I couldn't agree more with you; there's no downside to this, and a definite positive result.
could you make a list who support your greate work cause if i use an texturepack than this is not very nice to see
what do you mean exactly? what is not very nice to see?
if i understood you correctly, so far everybody who support this can vote for it and use signature and i am not sure why would you need a list, it's not even a mod so you can't play with it yet if you meant texture pack support.
That's a great idea !
But is it still only an idea or you're working on it ? What's the state of the project now ?
It must be a pain in the ass to make all variants to tile with each other... but the result, (according to the pics), is awesome !

It's just an idea, i am not that talented enough to make a ready to use mod or textures for every block. I just want people's attention and support who are capable of doing this.
If Facebook, Google Plus, Tumblr, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
I like the idea, indeed, it adds more...... Originality to every block, it also makes things slightly less "boring" because I have a tendancy to like high-detailed or more originally-detailed things than just the same-old boring cobblestone block, that texture is..... Ugly.

make different terrain.png's and put them in a texture pack?
BTW liked the idea about this! Total support!
Probably yes, but there may be more effective ways though.
