This would be a very cool addition to the game. I know this sounds cliche but it would be cool if behind them there would be some kind of treasure or bonus. But this would make the waterfall more rare unless there is only a bonus behind some of them
That does actually sound interesting as a preset chest, but I think that they should still just be natural. You can dig out the cave entrances and houses you want behind them, that shouldnt be part of the actual generation.
I agree with some people that the waterfall in that picture is big, but that doesn't mean you should get rid of it. Have waterfalls of all sizes, with that being the biggest. They would be helpful in creative for building, and survival for having a base in, a place to escape mobs, a mob trap, so many things. Why hasn't Notch thought of implementing this suggestion? He wants to make MineCraft more realistic? (That is what he said when he buffed zombies and skeletons, a few updates ago) Then add a waterfall. Waterfalls appear in real life...

I never thought about it before, but I really do want waterfalls in the game.
There's just not much going on with water right now in Minecraft, and that should change.
I wanna see Mojang add more depth to the ocean biome (not literally), and I would love more depth in water period.
Waterfalls would add a little more to water, and the environment.
I would love to build a house on a waterfall.
I think waterfalls would be good if they had rivers leading up to it and a plunge pool and the bottom giving off mist.
