This would make Minecraft much better. Can't you just imagine exploring for an hour and finding one of these to set up a base in?
meh... that kind of depends on the size of the waterfall cave. i mean, imagine finding a waterfall, going inside to make your base, and getting swarmed by hostile mobs because they were spawning like crazy in the giant cave. if it were to be designed with the intention of being able to make a base in it, the cave shouldn't be any bigger than roughly 20x20.

Or put glowstone in waterfall caves... Making it even MORE awesome
And SUPPORT.
I support the idea, and I like the picture, but maybe that height is a little too high. I do support the ideas of plateaus and waterfalls and such. I rarely see any cool naturally spawning waterfalls. Something like the picture, albeit a bit shorter in total height, would be awesome.
"Hey world, here I cooooommmmm--" -splat-
"Did you tell him the water was only 1 block deep?"

that WOULD suck.

I think the waterfall you show is a little bit too big and uniform. They should be more irregular.
yes, certainly.
i just had a GREAT idea. if we have waterfalls, why not LAVAfalls? that would be so entertaining... but maybe put them in the nether only to avoid exploitation/ mishaps.

waterfalls that size would be extremely rare. if anything most waterfalls in game should only stem from small creeks and shouldn't be more than 10 blocks long with a 5-15 block drop ( unless at the top of the extreme hills biome)
but can i also suggest rapids?
(it'll give us a reason to put that waterfall loops sound to use)
I would actually like waterfalls, but waterfalls like the one in the first picture are absurdly big for a natural map. If we measure a waterfall size in width —since height is easily adaptable to the terrain—, I'd say a minimum size of 2 blocks and a maximum of 8-9 should be great.

You got a support from me, but just smaller ones. TO avoid "redundancy" I suggest a waterfall biome, which is basically extreme-hills/forest biome with the spruce wood trees. That would be pretty neat. OR maybe even when a waterfall forms, there's a layer of stone around it. And maybe it could be a generated structure, and even a loot chest beind the water flow. But again, SIPPORT.

don't they already have waterfalls? Just really small ones?
As I stated, there are indeed single blocks of water that you might call waterfalls, but these are so small that they're meaningless. The whole point of the suggestion is to get recognition for them and for them to actually be visible and aesthetically pleasing.

I would more prefer that waterfalls looked similar, or even the same, because I know it would be harder to create smooth transitions if they needed to be actual biomes. Biome or not, creating a smooth transition is very important. I would love to make a waterfall mod, but this smooth transition is what I cant do.
This would be a very cool addition to the game. I know this sounds cliche but it would be cool if behind them there would be some kind of treasure or bonus. But this would make the waterfall more rare unless there is only a bonus behind some of them
