I think the ability to use a hack client with survival would be fairly useful.
Before you get your shorts in a bunch, it could be an option to toggle, and if it's on, there'd be some sort of unshoopable icon to indicate it. I'd just like to use it for the lulz on occasion, but to also see where ai spawn, the layouts of the map, ect. Also, the fact that I'm so used to my client being practically fullscreen, using the normal one strains my eyes now. 8(
Fun or not, the entire GAME is meant to be played without hacks. If flight, phasing and super-speed were intended perks, they wouldn't have to be obtained externally.
I can see why hacking in a sandbox is tolerated, but doing so during goal-oriented gameplay is absurd. And before someone argues that this is simply a test phase, bear in mind that security is slated to be tightened for the complete Survival experience, so "testing" with a hacked client is totally unnecessary.

It's single-player. No-one's interfering with anyone else.It doesn't matter. Peroid.
WHEN WILL YOU PEOPLE UNDERSTAND AND STOP WAVING YOUR KLONDIKES AROUND?
I want to use the hacks to try and figure out how the spawn system works, not to try and get some uber super high score. If I cared about my score, I wouldn't want to use hacks. I want to use hacks to also not die unfairly every goddamn time four hundred ****ing skeletons spawn next to me. God damn it. Also, standalone client = less lag and easily to texture switch. (I know I could make a shortcut to the folder on my desktop, but I try to keep my desktop clean.)
Just like how any software gets cracked, Minecraft will inevitably get hacked in any mode. If the security gets tightened, the hacking will get more subtle.

Not dieing (dying? dyeing? lol.) is raising your score.
Seriously, playing survival with hacks, is completely lame. Seeing how the spawn system works? OK, so it drops a mob at a random place, pretty much. Don't need much more detail then that.
At the moment score is pointless. There are many non-hacked-client ways to raise ones score to stupidly high numbers. Cheat Engine comes to mind.
However, where in creative mode the ability to fly around only makes things faster in survival it allows one to survive situations that otherwise one could not survive in. To that extent hacked clients in survival mode would in fact be cheating, as they give one player a hard advantage of surviving and not merely speed in creative mode that only changes how long iot would take to make something.
But simply scorning and alltogether removing hacks is not a terribly good idea. Imagine what one could do with hacked clients in survival mode. We can make magic happen. A massive portion of the playerbase finds the game more enjoyable for longer periods of time with the hacks. So how to appease both crowds?
Anti-hack commands in the server menu. If you want your server to allow hacks then allow them. If not don't allow them. Simple. You don't like playing with hackers? Find another server. Want to play the game as intended? Play a server with anti-hack. Now this isn't a claim to how to achieve such technology but how it should be used.

Sensible solution. Time for a lock, because (as previously mentioned in other hack debate discussion threads) we already have this.

Also, thank you, Zuriki, for pointing that out.

Anyway, just use cheatengine. Also atm, the hacks can load survival if you know what you are doing, you just can't use the hacks.
