They should make an illusion potion, not awareness potion, adding a fermented spider eye should make an awareness potion. The illusion potion has the effect of level 2 halusionations(2 berries), glowstone makes it level 5.
Personally I think it won't get added b/c someone'll think it's a drug reference.
If you had the screen fade gray a bit for every berry you ate till it was completely grayscaled, then people couldn't complain about it being a drug reference. Also, it you think about it, some people will complain about everything such as those who are complaining about a 16x16 pixel game having too many edible items... :/
How would the awareness potion's slowdown work in SMP? It would be a VERY BAD idea for it to slow down the entire server, especially when there's multiple people facing multiple creepers.
Remember that creepers never travel alone, there's gotta be at least 3 or 4 at once.
Sounds really cool to me, though taking down the bush with sheers doesnt sound right. If im not mistaken sheers are used for the collection of animal hide, not vegetation. I think the bush can be punched and have a chance of dropping a sapling of its type, for this situation this sapling would grow into a bush that produced TWINKERBERRIES.
You do know you can get leaves, ferns etc with sheers, right?
About the suggestion, I like it. Seems like a pretty good idea.
There doesn't really need to be any more food in Minecraft. I mean, people already complain about how the hunger bar "ruins" the game, so why give them pointless food for an actual reason to complain?
I think bushes should spawn in plains biomes rarely, and when you cut them with shears they give you get maybe 1-2 sticks. That gives another use for shears and makes sticks easier to get (instead of having to cut down a tree and get extra planks and sticks lying around)
To be honest, if people don't want more food, DON'T PICK THE BERRIES.

There are two ways of dealing with this that I came up with. The first is to disable slowdown on SMP, which is boring but simple to code. The second might go something like this:
When the slow triggers on someone, a 5-block radius around them is slowed down. Looking outward, you see the other player's past, but looking inward you see the present. This could get trippy, but if you move into it or out of it, you sync back up with that zone. Once the slow is finished, that area speeds back up, gradually making up time lost during the creeper's coutdown. This wouldn't be sharp; moving into or out of the radius will be a gradient.
The benefits of the second idea is, of course, allowing the slowing of time on smp without disrupting too much of the server and making room for any magical effects in the future which would affect time. The problem is that it would probably be fiendish to code and hard to bugspray.
Nice ideas. Eating 6 or more should make your screen swirl like the nether portal does, but clear, more violent and last for 30 seconds per extra berry.

I think that after five the effects will be amplified with each extra berry, so when you get to ten you're in Wonderland, except worse. That would be fun!

Well, personally, I think that the slowness should be client side, in a way.
It sounds odd, I know, let me explain.
When the creeper starts to explode, you see time slow down--however, your speed doesn't change, and the creeper is slower.
Someone else is watching you. The creeper isn't slow like you see it, but you yourself appear to be moving faster than usual.
It's basically a client-side effect that only you see. At least, if I were Jeb/the OP and were implementing/posting this, it's how I would make it.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?

A good concept, but the problem with that is that the other people are seeing you go faster than normal. That means they are seeing your future, and without an insane amount of input latency servers can't handle that. Unless you happen to be right outside a black hole, or you just invented time travel, which I would like to hear about either way. A good idea, but relativity sucks, I know
"Dude, these berries make you totally high, man!"
Of course, I think it's an awesome idea aside from that minor detail about social correctness. It would make a good mod.
Thanks!
