Am I missing something or do we only have the 5 save slots? This is really cramping my crafting at the moment. Can I request that those who have paid for the game be given more saved slots? Since the multi player maps are saved server-side I can understand limiting the number of saved games. However the paying people should be allowed to have more than the free play people. At a minimum, change it from the current 5 to at least 10. Hell even 2 more slots would make things easier on me.
Someone had said that Minecraft may be going to a downloadable client soon....maybe then?
As soon as the official minecraft client comes out (I assume the hack clients will cease to work then, yay) it'll probably use local files for singleplayer savegames. Which is awesome, as it makes our storage limited to our HDD's. And thats a lot.

Since 1 map is like 4MB.
thats thousand maps per 4GB! a million maps on 4TB!!
I'd suggest, but not endorse, one of these two following workarounds (which, either way, are likely not good ideas):
1.
Create another acc.
Load your original acc's maps and save them to the new acc's five slots.
There you go, 5 more slots. But a very non-economical solution.
2.
Get a hack client that supports auxilliary map saving.
Find the folder it saves the auxillaries to.
Create a new one and move the files.
Space is now only limited to your storage device. Just create maps and move the files so you don't overwrite. Reasonable but taboo, and supposedly useless once the official client comes out.
