i would love to see a client that keeps with the whole blocky minecraft theme, but adds subtle differences like shading and shadows and maybe indirect lighting from glass and stuff like that. there is like a dream of mine to be able to walk in a building and have like shaded lighting seeping in the windows with bounces and color bleed like real life. but with all blocky textures.
if i knew more about shader programing im sure this could be implemented as a launcher for the client, not much more complicated then that.
Sounds pretty cool, but I would personally want things like this to wait till later down the road. There are many more important things to cover (more block types, fine-tuning survival mode, creating new gamemodes, integrating a Lua API, etc.) that make this a small concern.
This could work but ive been messing with several clients and i found that modding the client that much will stop multiplayer. lol i made a survival mode client (FULLSCREEN) and tried to connect to multiplayer and it first loads a singleplayer then says you have been disconnected form the server.

So yea.
