I played the survival mode and I gotta say it looks impressive!
I wanted to give you two suggestions that would make the game better.
1: When mushrooms were engulfed with water, they would withstand it. Normally, the mushrooms should have been washed away. I don't know if they do the same for lava, but if water engulfs the mushrooms, the mushrooms should be destroyed automatically.
2: When any collectible blocks falls into the lava, those blocks should be disintegrated. It's a hassle for when I'm trying to replace lava with blocks as the collectibles blocks the way.
1) Small glitch, the code was actually reversed so 'shrooms can survive in shadow and not light. Which is inaccurate ofc. Which means they don't die in water (cause it just detects it as shadow).
2) I'm sure you can use gravel or sand and place at least 1 tile above the lava on a wall like
###
#x
#LL
###
x - Where you place the sand/gravel
L - Lava block (with resource in it probably).
# - Wall
The sand will drop into the place below without any consideration for limits etc.
They should be able to survive in both, mushrooms do grow in caves in real life. They also grow outside, which is why it should be both.
My own suggestion: Some kind of storage, so you can remove blocks from your inventory without having to go through the slow process of digging them up when you want to use them.

Third post idea: Again, it isn't really a hassle.
