I have not read all 140 pages to check if this has been suggested, but maybe the more efficient furnace should be crafted w/ nether brick. Also, the overworld and nether bosses should be summoned by an item(Kind of like Terraria, I guess) so they don't kill you while doing something else. Any suggestions?

We don't have a good list of features yet. I will get to the updating when that's done.
A lot of things are still being debated, some are still a litlle controversial as well.
Why not ask the creators of the current dimension mods to mash em' together? And then find a good way to cooperate. If you do so my mod is in!
As easy and simple as it sounds to do that, It would actually be very difficult considering that they would likely all have different view points than what we are trying to accomplish.
If they would like to help with creating the mod, that is fine. There is no guarantee that everything in their mod will make it into ours, but if some of the ideas they have would complament our mod, than those ideas can definately be included.

I drew this up in gimp, a very useful tool. A way to implement this is to simply make the first one "Seaweed1" and then assign it it's own block, then on a certain tick, it "grows" to "Seaweed2" a 2 block tall plant that is occupied by water, and so on.

I have a suggestion for how the dimensions could link.
The dimension progression system:
If you want to defeat the Overworld boss, you must light the portal with a special object made from resources from the Overworld Side dimension and the Nether boss. The Nether Boss is reached with just resources from the Nether Side.
Skyland Boss = Skyland Side + Overworld Boss
Ocean Boss = Ocean Side + Skyland Boss
End Boss = End Side + Ocean Boss
My idea for bosses:
Nether - Magmatic Giant
The Giant, when summoned, will rise out of the lava and shoot fireballs at the player. His melee attack will kill you instantly, so you have to outrun him. He, occasionally, spawns Blazes to help him. The only place he can be hit is the fiery core in his chest.
Skyland - Zeus
Zeus is quite self-explanitory. When summoned, he drops in on a cloud and tries to strike you with lightning as his first attack. His second attack is lightning missiles that are shot out of his staff. Here's the interesting thing: You can't damage him with mere mortal weapons. Luckily, his missiles are deflectable.
Ocean - Marsh Spider
My idea for the boss dimension is a shallow swamp. So, here's the swamp spider. The spider has venomous bites and spits cobwebs at you, to try and stick you to the ground. The spider's legs must all be killed before you can damage the body.
Once again, read the OP.
The dimension structure is all but set in stone at this point. All main dimensions, except for the Ender, will be accessible from each other. Side dimensions will also be entirely optional.

overworld boss:
making it so enderman only spawn once in the overworld,but the overworld enderman(has the same health as the original enderman) walks very fast and teleport once attacked,it cannot pick up blocks,but it may use mirror image(sometimes it may dissappear for a sec leaving particles behind),also,once it dies,it will explode and pop out arrows.
nether boss:
the ghast only appear once(has the same health as the big magma cube),but it can fly very fast,it can also shoot multiple fireballs like blaze,the ghast fireball may cause flaming arrows or even lava to pop out,the fireball may also summon pigzombies,and the ghast will summon a blaze on hit,it will also pop out fireballs in random directions on death
skyland(sometimes i call it heaven) boss:
also a ghast(this one has the same health as a giant),but unlike the nether one,this one shoots snowballs that causes Slowness V effect and creates snow pieces in 3 blocks radius,it may drop eggs to spawn snow golem and attack you,it will pop out snow golem eggs on death
water boss:
somewhere a skeleton will randomly appear on the crust(has same health as the original skeleton),they will shot charged or uncharged arrows alternatively,which deal different amount of damage,the arrows he shoot may cause lightning strike,silverfish spawn,poison or even explosions,and causes the arrow rain in the whole dimension for half a minute,so once u killed him,escape or make a shelter quickly
the end,before enderdragon appears:
you will see an end skeleton right from one of the obsidian pillars,he acts like both enderman and skeleton(shoots arrows and teleports,and has the same health as an enderman),once you defeat him,he will explode and transform into the end golem(teleports and attack like an iron golem,has same health as iron golem)which is stronger and faster than the end skeleton,also destroys walls on attack and some blocks it destroy may pop out enderman,which pops out endermans and transform into the enderdragon on defeat,the enderdragon(has the same health as the original enderdragon and even stronger than the end golem)shoots fireballs which explodes on impact,it will also bite you and cause poison on you,sometimes it will shoot snowballs which causes slowness X effect,once it dies,it will no longer transform but causes TNT rain for only a second,but it will kill you anyway,no matter where you hide,so once you defeat him,go in the portal quickly or you can never finish the game

Well, for now I will leave you with a little snippet of what's to come
This idea was thought up by morebosses I believe.
It pushes blocks up to five spaces away! It's the extended piston you've all been waiting for, but without that troublesome neck!
Of course this means that blocks can move safely through the space between the piston's "body" and "head" as long as the piston is powered.
We still have a few mechanics to work out, but it will be a pretty cool addition to redstone devices.

We came up with this completely separately from that mod, I would just like to clear that up.
EDIT: Upon closer inspection, the ideas are actually quite different.
The mod allows multiple blocks to be pushed and pulled like a sticky piston. It only moves forward one space like a normal piston.
Our piston moves forward multiple spaces, and it's settings relate to how many spaces the piston head moves forward.
Our piston doesn't have a neck, so blocks can be pushed through the space between the piston's head, and the piston's body
And lastly, our piston doesn't act like a sticky piston.
They look the same at first, but they are actually quite different.
