I looked at the index and searched, and didnt find anything.
I want a tool to delete/make blocks of the same type between two boundary blocks, of a different type. Hopefully it could automatically detect different dimentions also.
Perhaps you could just have a 10 block length line of stone. you want it all glass. So you change the outside two blocks to glass, then use the tool to delete all stone blocks in between, then switch it to spawn glass ones in between. Or with a square, you could have a stone square, change the corners to glass, then change each edge to glass using the tool, then delete all of the stone in the glass square and use it to make a glass square. Apply the same idea to a cube.
Basically, it makes building things on a larger scale much simpler, or even just modifying the wall of something that already exists.
IMO, implementing things like this takes the challenge and workload out of building massive structures and caves, which makes them less impressive to behold. One of the best things about Minecraft as a sandbox game is that it takes easily hours to build pretty much anything, which is why people like it so much. Although this is from someone who actually can stay up until the wee hours of morning doing it. Other people simply don't have the time.
NEKPED's right. Making it so anyone can build anything easily takes the spirit and fun away from the game.
No, that's not really what i meant. I'm kinda talking about this being an admin-only power that can be used to clear out areas to build in. Say i want a mini-ocean in a map that's completely flat. a nice size that i'm pulling out of nowhere would be maybe 100x100x60 (600,000 blocks to clear, then the outer edge to re-enforce is even more.). clearing this out by hand would be incredibly tedious and i really don't want to put that much work.
I thought Lua's were for like weapons and vehicles and other stuff like that...or do you mean the ability to spawn mass amounts at once?

I’m going to open up some kind of api for the server to let people write plugins easier than to fiddle with stderr and stdin. The API would expose things like players trying to build blocks, what block types, player movement and player chat interception. The API would then let you send messages, teleport players, set blocks and probably load and save levels.
The bold bits are all you need to implement this, along with chat interception. :]
Yeh, it would... Of course, backsup + the fack that Lua modded servers will be paid only once it's released means griefing will be rare and rather pointless. They'll grief once, get banned, and you restore backup.

It's just something i've been wanting.

Does this clear the idea any more?
Quality of output = Skill * Effort
You're not the server admin. You want to keep it online.
I'll definitely work on it when it's added :smile.gif:

No, unless someone is so determined to grief that they gain the trust of the admin. I'm pretty sure i said it'd be an op-only ability.
