This is not about hating the swamps, this is about
A: transitions suck - and they are good in every other biome transitions
B: texturepacks are powerless
Both points are no kiddy whining, but proper bugs.

People are missing the point when they assume this thread is about hating on the idea of swamps. I love 'em...that is, when they work as intended, and land and water in them actually blend into the other biomes.
Anyone thinking this travesty of a transition (just trips off the tongue!) actually looks ok, really does need their physical and metaphorical eyes seeing to. :blink.gif:
I think we need a warning label on swamps at the moment. I swear I've been having those funny episodes again.
This seriously should have been done a long time ago. It's almost as if the Mojang team didn't even test minecraft properly, they just went in-game to make sure the bug they were hunting at the time was fixed. Surely they can't actually like the biome transition looking as butt-ugly as this... surely? D:
Signed, extend the biome color palettes and add a biome water palette to accommodate swamps.
There actually already is a water pallete. "watercolor.png" in the "misc" folder of the jar. Doesn't seem to be getting used though since the swampwater color isn't even in it.
@rpg877: We're not protesting their shape or existence, only the fact that they blend horribly with the rest of the world and you can't change the color with a texture pack.
Oh i know that i just wanted to say that i actually agree with you (so i guess i should have written /sign but i actually forgot so ill just right int in this post) those are just 2 things that i like
THAT is a fantastic idea! I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. And there should be more of 'em. Those little green guys are impossible to find, and they're so easy to kill, it's embarrassing.

The transition between non-swamp and swamp biomes is absolutely hideous. There really should at least be some kind of gradient or transition at the borders.
swamp biome is a good idea, THIS swamp biome is not.
I like swamps, but the trans. kinda bugs me.
Biome colors of grass change smoothly, but not with swamps.
Be nice to have that worked on.
