This could be useful because griefers that see chat about their doings tend to go in to hiding. But why not kill two birds with one stone and implement a whisper/private message system?
That's a good point. Perhaps admin should have colored names on the tab window? This could negatively affect servers (griefers would know if there were on duty OPs) but it would be helpful to know who to trust as a player.
I'd prefer people didn't know who the admin/ops were.
Would-be griefers will jump at the opportunity to start trashing stuff once the last op leaves the game.
I'd like a /report to maybe open a window where the player can type in up to 100 characters to give names and details. It would then make a note of it in the server log, or maybe write to a reports file with a timestamp and stuff.
This would be an incredibly useful feature. I was just playing in a server where a greifer would always hide his name when he saw me because he saw that I reported a few others to an online admin.

This is seriously genius. Someone should send this to Mojang.
example: Vetle has reported Notch for: griefing
Relic of a bygone age.

Maybe you just type /report [name] [crime], then the Admin gets a message.

Also, I completely support this.
