Actually I don't care for the exact delay, I just suggested a long period since animals do not spawn anymore. If they start to explode they have to spawn accordingly, otherwise they would be extinguished before you ever see them :laugh.gif:
but they only go to the standing still/explode phase when their environment is favorable to the fungus (standing on infectable blocks or near infectable livestock.)
I think that has a good probability to spread too fast, if you restrict them from exploding on mycelium.

They're all going to end up dead eventually if they don't respawn, and mushroom biomes are few and far between.

I was thinking there should at least be some way to stop them from exploding so you can keep them in a pen.
I suppose you could breed cows and have cows turn into mooshrooms when eating mycelium like grass.
