Congratulations! That will get you a good career if you do not already have one.
The point that I'm coming across with that point is: Most people that speak that a concept is impossible don't know what the hell they're talking about and use it as a crutch of denial.
The point is, again, don't half-ass, if you don't like a suggestion and can't place your finger on why; BE A MAN/WOMAN and state WHY! Don't throw out some lame-ass excuse to hide behind. Hell, if you're worried about your words incriminating you (most people don't care if you don't lame-ass), then don't post at all.
Here's a few examples of a lame-ass excuse:
"This concept is ________!" <-- fill in the blank with "impossible", "overpowered", "gay/ghey", "not thematic", etc.
Why is this lame-ass? Because there is no valid backing. They do not EXPLAIN their actions. They say these things like it was obvious. Here's a hint for all those 13 year olds with a masters in processor design, "Nothing is obvious!"
Very nice and well thought out post, but I did notice you keep referring the human brain as sticky gunky tree saps of various kinds.
Also championing is fun. You get to combat the evils of redundancy and trolls! Of course it takes a lot out of your time... Also I hope that this stops my suggestions being shot down all the time. I suppose that's too much to ask seing as 90 percent of the people posting don't even look at this topics. Le sigh.

In order to be proud of the accomplishments of others, it is important to be proud of your own. That being said, having an ego allows you to not only laud your own personal achievements, but the achievements of others.
If one assumes that the relative intellect of others relative to your own is bordering clinical retardation and that you must break down your assessment to a point where even those wary troglodytes would grasp the pulpy fruit; then you can be fairly certain that others with a more clearly superior intellect would have less or little trouble grasping the same thing.
It's the complete opposite of how I word things, where I, more unintentionally than with purpose go over peoples' heads. It's not me trying to sound big and smart, it's me assuming that all of the readers are intelligent enough to be on an intellectual par with me. Please note that I am not saying that I'm super-smart, but that I have a generalized assumption that many are intellectual equals. In a system where one must be wary and one's own words will be used against oneself, I find myself responding in-depth. There cannot be a simple yes or no answer to a question as that opens oneself to attack. I can't say "yes" or "no" as there is not enough context to what I approved/disapproved. When someone gets bit by a snake, they make sure it doesn't strike again.
random: "Yoshi, do you like sex?"
me: "Yes."
random: "zOMG, nympho! You have sex with farm animals everyday!"
me: "Wait... I do what? With what? Inserting me into personal fantasies again?"
So, yes. I state to assume others have the relative equivalent IQ of tasty processed tree sap, this is to ensure that your point is stated as thoroughly as possible and that as much of your target audience is... y'know, targeted... as possible.
Generally I like to think that if people have an IQ lesser then that of an average pencil, then they shouldn't be on a public forum in the first place. But that's just me.
Thanks for the comment. Unfortunate as it is, we cannot rely on others to have the same experience or to have seen the same things as us, even at similar levels of intellect. A concept native and second-nature to you may be foreign and imposing to them. It's because of this that we need to break down our narrative so others can understand.
If they don't have the capacity to listen they certainly have no capacity to learn.
We should make a helmet connected to the computer, then we can upload directly to the person what the OP said!
If only Steve Jobs and Einstein were still alive..

Steve Jobs iswas far from an intellectual prodigy, and Einstein was more for the sake of relativity and quantum physics than he was a progenitor of psychic involvement.
Sigmund Fraud would also be unqualified as he was bat-**** crazy to begin with.
As a request, please keep all comments on-topic. While cages and calenders may not be bad ideas, they have absolutely nothing to do with the discussion and deserve to be placed on their own threads as opposed to hijacking this one. Please direct those suggestions to the proper location such as: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/654104-small-suggestions/
You make very valid points, and I think we all have crossed one or more of the lines here more than a few times. Accidents happen, this is to be expected. However, I don't think the solution is to make a new topic to educate people. Ignorance is bliss and many people will remain ignorant or at the very least unwilling to change.
So what I think would be the most efficient way to perhaps improve the system is to allow members to report posts and be able to cite specifically from a list what this post does that is unhelpful (i.e. This post simply says "they already made a mod for this"). I don't know if there is already a system for that. When I click "report a player" it feels like I should only use that if they are trolling or cyber bullying someone.
I guess I should just ask "Are we allowed to report players for basic forum rule violations and etiquette disturbance?"

Yes. I use it quite frequently for wishlists, "there's a mod for this", troll suspects, flaming, other petty ********, offensive materials, or ideas that are below the threshold for a reasonable suggestion. I also report if a topic has veered so far off topic it is not salvageable or if the topic is not in the right section (it harmlessly gets moved.)
Etiquette not so much as we all have bad days and getting someone warned for having an off-day or simply living outside what you/I consider normal is bad juju. Suffice to say that if someone is flying off the deep end, then there is no harm in reporting.
Consider it like this: If you are unsure whether someone deserves to be reported or not, report them; nothing bad will happen to you; and if he's done nothing wrong, nothing will happen to him.
Just, please, do not announce that you reported him. It just turns into a bunch of schoolyard ******** with revenge and counter revenge. You can state that he is in violation of the rules so long as it is pertinent to the discussion and helps improve the discussion or the original poster; but make sure you do so in an intellectual and non-threatening manner; unless you happen to be a callous asshole like me.
PERSONAL DEFINITION OF A REASONABLE SUGGESTION:
A reasonable suggestion consists of AT LEAST one paragraph WITHIN the body of the topic. It is reasonably unique-- Fail that-- reasoned/pitched -- fail that -- complete.
"I want guns" would be an unreasonable suggestion as it is not a complete SENTENCE let alone paragraph, it also is oversuggested and trite.
"I would like to have a form of fire arm which would fit the period of Minecraft such as a musket or flint-lock rifle with X balancing mechanics" would be a reasonable suggestion; barring the oversuggested point mentioned previously.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
many people place topics of new objects but no way to make them
That's a very good point, however I can't focus on the acts of the suggester here without flying wildly off-topic. It needs to remain on point so I can't discuss that in OP.
People always take everything personally. Everything is an issue; and everyone is out to attack them. It's paranoia at its finest, and it's excessively prevalent on members of this forum.
Congratulations! That will get you a good career if you do not already have one.

Is the suggestion too futuristic?
Is it overpowered?
Is it not thematic?
Do everyone a favor and state WHY or don't post at all.
