As the subject reads, it would be nice to have an In-Game Recipe Manual.
Now hear me out...
PLEASE READ ALL
NOTE: The Manual would not be called Recipe Manual particularly, it could be called something like the "Survival Manual."
It bothers me to pause the game and pull my browser multiple times to find those hard recipes, but what if we have an in-game manual to be there for us? I'm NOT saying we have every single recipe in the game, ready to read right off the bat, I am saying as we make recipes, they pop up in an ingame recipe manual. That way we have to find it the first time, then it pops up in our little recipe manual. Just like Statistics (in the game), we could pause it, or even to into inventory to pull up a 'manual' to lookup a recipe we have made before.
And even better, we would have just a few of the easy recipes (such as wooden sword, ax, hoe, and pickax) already in the manual!
Here's an awesome example i made to show you what I mean:
The 'book' would come in Tiers. The tiers would only be multiple books that have a limit to them. The more tiers (books) you have, the more recipes you can record.
To unlock/record the recipes:
This is actually something I can't think up of. I have a few options to choose from, here they are:
Recipes would be hinted at when the player finds all the resources for it.
---
Once you completed an Achievement, the game will hint at recipes that you may be able to create (this would also help create interest in completing the achievements.)
---
and lastly, We completely guess, like we had to (somewhat) do before
Here are my supporting points:
-For beginners, this would be phenomenal for them! They would have the basics right there ready for them!
-It would be great for the people who don't want to pull up their browser. I mean yes, they can, but it would be much nicer to have a recipe right there for you.
-It would give players who play Offline the ability to record and easily find recipes they may have forgotten!
Use the wiki, I do not care if it is annoying to switch out. Don't be lazy.

I am just a guy looking for good suggestions that are original, creative, and match the theme of Mine-craft. I have some mob ideas that I need help forming which is a community project.
Yes it is easier, but I still think it would hardly make a difference.

New people would be able to play the game more easily making it loose the "Oh, what can I craft with this?
But the OP states that only a few recipies would be shown, not every single one. As you discover them, they will be put in the recipe book, so you don't forget.

Having this in-game would simply make it nicer for the beginners who don't know what the heck they are doing. Along with the fact that it would be easier to find the tougher, or harder to remember recipes
Just saying the wiki makes this obsolete. I think it is a good idea, yes, but a rather pointless one.

Exactly!
And even veterans of the game can forget a few of them every once in a while lol
You know what, for just being one of the better ideas on the first page, I support.

The wiki makes it slightly obsolete during the time being played Online. Remember, there are those of us who do play Offline, and don't have the ability to reach Online sources.

But this would remove the new feeling and you could just open a little menu showing you all the items.

No! Definetely not like that. You would still be new, but you would have just a couple recipes shown to you. To show the rest of the recipes in the game, you must "unlock" them, by created the recipe at least once. Only then will the recipe be in your manual. Leaving the new feeling to it.

Cool pic. To add a poll, edit your post, go to the bottom where it has three tabs: Options, Add attachment, and Poll Creation. Fill in the fields, and your done!
I support the fact that you put effort into your ideas, but not this idea. I we need a more multipurpose way of recording information, like my custom books thread.

Down towards the bottom of the whole window is a poll function.
Follow it's instructions
