I'll be completely honest; I love the simplicity of minecraft. I love the way it works and what you can do with so few materials. I am not adamently(HOW THE **** IS THIS SPELLED) opposed to weather, but rain is annoying to be honest. I would hate a realistic setting, given it would take away many fine aspects of it. Also, minecraft is better right now than it was in classic. I like survival, but I feel like there should be an option for "classic" mode in a SP world. I would love this. The weather should not be too over the top IMHO. I do, though, like rain when "fancy" is turned on. As long as I'm not working on something. The quickest fix is to put the bed on the top of the tower and just go to sleep on peaceful. (making a giant castle)
I give the idea of weather a heads up, but not too realistic, as this takes the aspect of building a bit less out of the game, since it will be destroyed by some realistic weather.

Thanks for your input! I see where you're coming from, and I believe that's where the different settings would come in. Everything butthe realistic setting would include just rain and snow, which would be very helpful for the people out there that don't exactly support the idea of weather. As a matter of fact, I just updated the top post to specify that the realistic setting is the only setting that would include the other weather such as droughts and hurricanes.
Well, if possible, they would have the updates added to them, unlike the lapis lazuli update >.<. It would be a disappointment to see my main world not get included in any of the future updates.
If it does get implemented into the game you should be able to create a tsunami or a tidal wave when blowing up in water or have depth charges to do that. Maybe add lighting to snow storms, was really cool when I saw one at about 3am shoveling snow.
No problem.
These ideas all sound great, especially the rising water levels during long thunderstorms.

yeah, for sure... having it has something that's not un-toggleable would be annoying sometimes o.0
