I very much like these ideas. minecraft is a creative game after all (among other things :wink.gif: ).
I know this has probably been suggested a bunch of times before but you should change the green in the palatte recipe to yellow. and my reasoning is this:
red, green, blue (RGB) are the primary colours of the LIGHT colour system. whereas red, yellow, blue (RYB) are the primary colours of the PIGMENT colour system. paints are pigments not lights.
when you aim a green light and red light at a wall you get yellow. but when you mix red and green paints together you get brown.
you kinda get my reasoning here?
but by all means, stick with what you think works best :smile.gif:
The reason that I use the RBG system is for two reasons, one theme-based and one practical.
The first is that I believe the block, digital nature of minecraft is very important. Because computers use the RGB system, for me at least it make it feel just a bit more computer like, which I believe is an interesting twist to the world.
The second is that if I use yellow instead of red, then a player wishing to to make a pallet would not have to find a desert to make green dye with, where as a player that spawns in a dessert would have to find a grassy biome. Use green instead of yellow helps balance it out.

well I kinda see your reasoning but im still not sure I completely agree with it.
I understand you want to balance things but remember that both colour systems use blue, which can only be made from lapis lazuli, a fairly rare block. I think that would be sufficient balancing.
I'm not trying to criticize you, I think these are great ideas. its just yellow would make more sense to me :tongue.gif: but i defer to your judgement, i guess green would make sense too.
now i like where all this is going, but why would a writable book with only 3 pages? why not a 50 page limit or something along that line. but i love all these crafting ideas and the finished products for each one. but correct me if im wrong, but this is just a suggestion right now correct? if it is a mod, or going to be and update, or might be one, please inform me. im about to claw my eyes out because there a so many mods for stupid things like flying cows (just an example), but nothing like writing in a book, there was, but discontinued after 1.4 (around there...) but i like where you are going with this.
Imagine entering a new server and seeing a library full of books of adventures and lore. Then entering another room and seeing chests of custom records. I for one would think it would be awesome.
wich link ( i am very new to forum stuff so please help)
On the very first page of this topic, it says something to the effect of "Thanks to the wonderful people and ABP mods for making this wonderful mod!"
Go to the first page, and click on the word mod. It should be underlined and blue.
I actually really like this. The literature should be in vanilla. And while the music doesn't seem to fit as well as it could, it would be really cool. Also shouldn't the trumpet and flute recipes use gold and iron ingots? (for a little bit more realism) Or were you just trying to keep all the crafting recipes equal and easy to obtain?
Good mods need time I guess. Also I think that by the fact it was placed in the Suggestions board, Llama would like to see it added to the base game too, We can only hope!
Actually, I placed it in the suggestions board because at the time I posted it, it was just a suggestion.

Man. . . I really hope someone makes the literature mod, that would be so freaking awesome, having actual printed money! This mostly a bump, but I'd like to complement llama for putting so much thought into this mod suggestion. This is freaking brilliant!
And finally, custom paintings can be edited again just by using your palette again. Be ware of vandalism!
Oh dear. Better hire a guard for that painting exhibit.
Speaking of vandalism, some commenters have complained that griefers would use this as a tool to paint disgusting, inappropriate pictures across the walls. And yet, this is a game where you can write and profanity you please across the sky. So it wouldn't add problem we don't already have and are dealing with by banning people.
why not just add the "stamp" item from the art of literature mod?
(click on my post if you approve!)
Im not sure if i like the music stuff, but i do like the paintings, books, and scrolls idea.
speaking of music, I hope that someone PMs the guy who made Note Block Studio once the art of music mod is done so that they can make an upgrade to support all of these instruments!

I have an idea that should make everybody happy:
Include both recipies!
Or, even better, allow users to change it in the configuration file! (make the default RGB, though, because 1: that's what computer pixels use, and, 2: then you would have to find a desert biome before you could make it, therefore promoting exploration.)

Sorry, this isn't a mod. To download the mod, click on the link in the OP.
Make more instruments though, like a piano or trombone. Then I'd love this more :tongue.gif:
I really do like all of your ideas, they'd make customization in minecraft to a whole new level! And books you can write in! that's genius!
