Bedrock? no, no and completely no.
maybe a block similar to Netherrack, but indestructable
if it will be bedrock it will look boring.
Also, the active/inactive chances of the found volcano shall variate.

They may have a dungeon with no mob spawner inside, with 4-8 chests in it. Randomly generated itens.
I dont agree with dragon skin armor. the volcano may have no lava.
Cuz lava and a dragon will be too challenging. only a dragon.
The ashes may dont make trees insta-grow, or ppl may use it to make it insta-grow and destroy other blocks up it.
The balls that volcano shoot will be:
10 average balls (Put things in fire, nothin on water)
2-3 Explosive balls (Put things in fire, nothin on water, makes a explosion 0.5x weaker than tnt)
Thats all
so theres just a random thing of lava at the top? why not make a chamber of lava inside and make it a bit more realistic. or make lava so that it like this
so people cant mine straight to the treasure without the treasure burning or the person dieing.
I'm all for a volcano biome being added, but obsidian would seem more fitting than bedrock, as it actually is a volcanic rock in real life. Also, dragon skin? Why bother? All I have to do is use a fire resistance potion and I'm set for up to 6 or so minutes of exploring insider the volcano, looking for that room. Sure, venturing to the Nether and finding me some slimes might take a bit, but with that, I could still bypass the battle.
"I don't plan to add a new dimension at the moment. It's just to performance heavy on servers, and the current dimensions need more attention before we start adding new ones." < Yeah, like biomes or actual varied terrain in the nether. Nether ruins didn't do the trick at all.
last time i checked volcanos either go dormant or asleep. if it went extinct there would be no volcano.
are you playing classic?! dragons are in minecreaft and have been since 1.9 prerealese 4 or 5(or 3)
get the facts.
EDIT: in fact rather than having dragon armour, have the dragon drop a map. the map shows the location of an acient underground temple.after exploring the temple you find a lever, which stops the lava flow covering the tresure. but have the dragon still be alive on peacfull, so people cant just turn to peacfull mode to avoid the dragon.
That would actually work better unless it fell into lava but you could find the temple on accident/or it not be able to generate within what a map can show/ect.
not made out of bedrock, how about stone. but i like the ash idea, having it look like grey snow would be good. and it would make a great dragon base
The consensus is obsidian so no bedrock...not sure why other than the abilty to take a long amount of time to try to find the room or remove the volcano
But I think instead, It should be A large field of obsidian with rivers of lava , and the only mobs that spawn here are small fire breathing lizards that protect the dragon. When killed, they drop dragon scales which can be made into swords, arrows, and armor. Dragon scale armor (aka Draco armor) And the volcano should be huge with a dragon flying around it attacking whenever you come near. The treasure should be on a huge island in the center of the ginormous volcano, along with several other islands. The only reward for killing the dragon is a safer passage to the island. the only way there is to construct a bridge across. The volcano should never go extinct, and several small "eruptions" (lava geysers) should occasionally be there to stop you. If the volcano erupts while you're there, you better hope you're on an island. When it erupts, the lava spills over the top for a bit. the islands are two blocks high when not in the midst of an eruption. when erupting, the lava goes up by one. The volcano's lava goes all the way down to bedrock. The lava loses a level 1 minecraft day after the eruption. The middle isle is 12 blocks high. When it is supposed to rain, it instead "snows" ash. Ash can be crafted into ash blocks which can be used to make a volcanic version of the snow golem.

The dragon and the bedrock mountain just kill it for me.
