I was thinking that Minecraft would be better with variations of armor, maybe there can be 2 types of armour for each.Maybe a berserker armour would give more damage while paladin armour would have more defense. There could also be broadswords and katanas with different stats focused on one specific stat/

Marginal support.
The main purpose of armor is to take massive amounts of damage for the player and it doesn't function in unified sets but 4 separate pieces that can be enchanted and used independently. I'm interested in enchantment for a chestplate that is mutually exclusive with Protection and increases melee attack power.
I'm not interested in a separate armor type for that - especially considering our choice is already fairly varied in terms of material and there is quite a lot of space to amplify differences between them. And it doesn't really make sense for armor to make your strikes stronger with obvious exception of magical enchantment, which considering how magic works can be anything the developers want.
Similar thing applies to weapons, but even more pronounced - swords are balanced and specialize in area damage, axes have lethal alpha damage and counter shields, hoes can be spammed at will, tridents are intermediate between axes and swords and can be thrown, there are shovels and pickaxes with some potential and all of it can be enchanted - I don't really want more kinds of already existing weapons like swords - I'd rather see unlocking potential of current tools, weapon-tools like hammers that vastly differ from what we have now or more enchantments.
I recommend you to check out three things: firstly - resource packs, secondly - optifine mod, thirdly - Minecraft Dungeons

Dwarf gamer found:
Buildings - square, not round
Materials - from rubble mound
Dark caves - lit 'n' cleaned out
Settlements - deep underground
Farmability - to grinder bound
Shields - made creepers but sound
Axes and crossbows - taking mobs out
