There's been times I've had a lot of XP & did something stupid & died losing it all - by bottling it up I could've save it before attempting suicidal events
My personal idea is a bit more simplistic...
1. To 'Bottle' your xp you just place a normal glass bottle onto an enchantment table & depending on the amount of Lapis you use determines how much XP is going to be stored in the bottle - as shown on each level.
The enchanted bottle of XP will have a 'glow' effect added to it to show its not a standard 'bottle of XP' & have a Name of 'Bottle of XP [xx]' to show how much is stored in it (where xx] is how many levels it holds)
2. The newly created enchanted 'bottle of XP' is broken just like any other type of Bottle of XP except instead of the normal vanilla low XP levels - it actually give you the number of lvl that were stored based on the Lapis you used
In my attachment it would cost you 1 Lapis to store 8 Levels, 2 Lapis to store 17 Levels & 3 Lapis to store 30 Levels
My idea is to combine a chest and exp bottle surrounded by redstone. I have 2 ideas of how it would be consumed.
Right click it in to the sky and it consumes all your exp. It would be red while full and would have a small red ring on the bottleneck.
First way to consume:
Throw it like a normal exp bottle. the flaw with this is that if someone stored like a 1000 levels the game would probably break.
The soulutions are:
1.making it a single big red exp orb
2.pray that it doesn't break the game.
Second way to consume:
Drinking it.
This wouldn't really feel like minecraft so that is the only downside i can think of.
Thanks if anyone read this and feel free to add your ideas to the thread.
Also sorry if my grammar is bad english is my second language.
This is actually a very good idea, because some survival players could want to get their head, but have a lot of levels so cannot do so. Upvoted.
I love making farms.

I've always liked the idea of 'Bottling your XP'

This should have been done a long time ago
instead of expecting people to waste chest space filled with junk to use on a grindstone.
I'd much rather store my surplus XP I earned from breeding animals or fighting hostile mobs,
than waste time fishing and then using the grindstone.
I support,
highly unlikely Mojang will do it though.
