Hello, I think it would be a great idea to add more ocean mobs/animals in Minecraft but this time they should be dangerous because in the ocean update, the only “dangerous” mob was pufferfish and I guess the drowned. But i think maybe like Jellyfish, Sharks, Piranhas, and/or Octopus would be cool in the game. Jellyfish would emit a light glow and when a player touches them, the player gets poisoned and a new effect called paralysis which stops the player from moving at all, just for a couple of seconds though. For the sharks I think they should spawn in kinda like the deeper parts of the oceans but like not too deep. They would be aggressive and will attack you but you can craft a new item called “Shark Bait” which you can place to lure all the sharks to it. The piranhas would spawn in groups in like maybe near rivers and swamps and would swarm you and immediately bite you doing only a bit of damage but they spawn in groups so it would hurt a lot. And finally the octopus which spawns in coral reefs and deep oceans, they would be able to change color and camouflage into their surroundings, when a player gets near them they charge at you and attack you but when hit they will run away for a few seconds before coming back for round 2. Now for the drops I think the jellyfish should drop some sort of Jelly Membrane which can be used to make potions of paralysis and tipped arrows and stuff like that. The sharks should drop meat most of the time but very rarely they can drop a shark fin which can be put on a chest plate on the smithing table to place the fin behind the chest plate that will make you go faster underwater. I don’t know what the piranhas would drop but the octopus would sometimes drop raw calamari which can be cooked into fried calamari which is edible both ways cooked or not cooked (cooked fills more hunger bars that raw)
EDIT =
i dont think these animals should drop anything mostly because they are real life animals and i dont think minecrat would want to encorauge killing animals (as proven by what they said about the shark) so maybe instead of real life animals they should add a hostile fictional mob, im not gonna type a discription about it because i haven't really thought of anything so you can put suggestions in the comments (btw i dont like the idea of octopuses attacking you or adding pirhanahs anymore)
I don't know... I think one of the parts about the Aquatic Update is that players are supposed to want to explore the Ocean... and while a lot of these ideas are pretty cool, they'd only further discourage players from traveling to the ocean. Ironically, (Much like the real world), it's arguably easier to travel to alternate dimensions than it is to, say, make a potion of water breathing. (And sort of essential if you want a brewing stand to make said potions.)
Right now there are plenty of dangers in the ocean. Namely:

Right now there are plenty of dangers in the ocean. Namely:
Pufferfish, (Which are surprisingly annoying for such tiny creatures.)
The perpetual danger of drowning. (Maybe just for me- I'm pretty water adverse.)
I can see some of these- but maybe just as biome specific creatures of some sort.
Perhaps we could have an enchantment or some kind of beacon that deters Sharks so Sharks don't attack players who are exploring.
Also here's an interesting fact about Sharks in real life, attacks against humans are rare, as Sharks prefer other ocean creatures for prey over humans. When humans are attacked it is usually mistaken identity, they do mistake humans for seals when on a surf board, for example.
Having sharks attack the player in Minecraft can work, if they are made a rarity, and it has to be something the player did wrong to provoke it, such as exploring the ocean at night, where sight of the creature would be impaired, alternatively, if the player explores the water while injured, say if they're on half health or 5 hearts, this also could provoke a shark attack as they'd smell the blood of the player in the water.
I'd welcome a change like this, because it would be an avoidable situation, as it should be.
At the same time it adds new hazards to the ocean meaning players need to be more careful about what they're doing.

I don't think piranhas should be implemented as hostile mobs. Most piranha types would flee from humans.
This killer swarm thing comes from monster movies. Same goes for most of the sharks.
The octopus could have invisibility effect if harmed. I know, they don't turn invisible in real life.
But they turn (or are) red, wich is hard to see in the dark deeps.
My projects:
-are abandoned for now. I might pick 'em up in the future.
For now i'm working on a private modpack that suit's my own playstyle.
I am gonna stay in modded 1.12.2 untill my potato dies. No mercy! :Q
hello! yeah i kinda agree on the piranhas thing and i dont really see it getting added to minecraft anymore
