It would make string too cheap to get.
Wool is farmable from very early on, but spiders have to be fought against.
Unless you build a mob grinder. Which is still quite labor-intensive project with bigger resource prerequisite than a sheep farm.

Dwarf gamer found:
Buildings - square, not round
Materials - from rubble mound
Dark caves - lit 'n' cleaned out
Settlements - deep underground
Farmability - to grinder bound
Shields - made creepers but sound
Axes and crossbows - taking mobs out
the spinning wheel would let you turn wool into string. IM surprised we don’t have this already!
we can turn 4 sting into one wool, it only makes sense that you could turn one wool into four string!
they should also add wheels that would also be needed to craft minecarts (where do the wheels on minecarts come from?)
that would also be necisary to make a spinning wheel.
it would be crafted with one wheel (which is crafted from 8 iron Nuggets and one Wood,)
and two sticks and one wood (the pedal).
i usually have much more wool than i need but i usually need more string!
i hope we see this soon.

Would it not make more sense to just be able to reverse the craft? Like, just put a block of wool in your crafting area and you'll get 4 string.
Yes but ITS kinda like the 1.14 blocks
Ah yes, I see...
Also when the HELL are they gonna give the Fletching Table a purpose?!
