As known throughout the Minecraft community sleeping in a bed to sleep the night away whilst also setting your own personal respawn point is one of the best and basic mechanics of Minecraft as it allows you to move away from your original world spawn. [/p]
Your reading this and probably thinking about what I’m about to say next about the bed and how I want to change it and the fact is I don’t want to change it.[/p]
I’m sure this is confusing too you as if I don’t want to change the bed then why am I talking about them in the first place? Well the answer to that question is that I’m suggesting a mechanic that falls into a very similar category to beds as where Minecraft bed’s mechanics fails for me is the problem of if you want to sleep through the night then you are forced to actually SET your spawn there (you know at that specific bed that your about to break).[/p]
This situation happens very often as if your venturing of somewhere and it has all of a sudden become night and you would like to sleep on the bed you took with you then you can do so... at the cost of after waking having to break your bed (spawn point) leaving you with only your original world spawn point until you set your new one. This is a problem for people who live very very far away from where they once spawned and I have a proposition to help this.[/p]
So I present Portable beds (work of progress name) [/p]
Crafting: [/p]
Can be crafted with 2 wool blocks and 2 wooden planks similar to how beds are made. This allows it to be slightly cheaper and would make sense due to one of its lost abilities.[/p]
Function: [/p]
it’s physical function and space requirements would be exactly as a bed with it needing 2 side by side blocks to be placed and could be used for on the go use where when night can be used to sleep through the night but with this bed it doesn’t actually set your spawn meaning if running from one part of your world to another and it turns night you can stay safe and not risk being spawned back at world spawn.[/p]
I’m sure how I’ve phrased this doesn’t make much sense in places but in other words you can really call it a sleeping bag as just in real life you can sleep in it but it doesn’t mean it’s YOUR bed (unless it really is your bed)[/p]
As always any actual opinions that actually help the idea and community grow are welcome [/p]

Hi thanks for informing me about the page but I’ve read through it and cant find where this thread destructs these “restrictions” (I’m not saying your wrong as I’m sure you’re right but could you take a quote from the page?)

Control+F4 on Windows lets you search for specific phrases on a page. If you're not on Windows, then I don't know if there is a way. But that'll let you search for specific details without reading the whole page.
Specifically, the following is stated about beds:
Sleeping bags. Beds are unique so it is highly unlikely there will be any additional furniture items like them. (25 January 2019)
To me, it makes sense why they say this about beds. Beds let you skip the night and set a respawn point as opposed to just waiting, yes. But they allow you to settle far away from the world spawn with no worries about trekking back there when you die. That is why beds are considered unique.

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.

That is not going to happen.

I used sleeping bags as a way to explain it like in real life I wasn’t saying that there should be sleeping bags.
thanks for quoting👍
