Now, I know this is very controversial, the idea of Herobrine and whatever. I just don't want anyone to get offended by this and I apologize if someone has had a similar idea.
We're very close to the 10th anniversary of Herobrine (a very popular Minecraft urban legend). I have an idea that i think will make the game more fun and will please veteran players. Herobrine was a made-up character (or they say) that "haunts Minecraft and messes with your world". It has become an icon and as well as a running joke. I think it would be spectacular to add something in game that is loosely based on this tale.
Imagine, if one day in your Minecraft world there were random structures you don't remember being there, or an entire forest ripped of its leaves. Slowly but surely your world would start having a lot of fog and rain. One day maybe some mob or something of the sort would present you with a map or book that would lead you to a "temple of Herobrine" where you finally clash down with the legendary mob and claim the title of the unbeatable player.
That's just MY IDEA and doesn't necessarily have to be it, just how I envision it. I think its high time that Minecraft gets a new boss battle... a more exciting boss battle that would really change the gaming experience. I understand of course how Herobrine is a scary figure to some (especially young children) but it can be optionable to have this boss battle in the world. Anyway as the anniversary of Herobrine approaches... It's time to give the fans what the want Minecraft!!!
As for the idea, I dislike it. Besides Herobrine being capital "L" Lame (in my opinion), I do not like the idea of something modifying my game world in ways outside of my control. Creeper explosions are 100% preventable so I don't take issue with them and while Endermen can be annoying, the blocks they can pick up is limited to a small group of very common blocks. But structures suddenly appearing where I was doing something (or planning on doing something) or screwing up my nearby forests is a big "No thanks" from me.

The only extent to which I would want to see Herobrine implemented is as an occasional visual phenomenon where, under certain circumstances, you might occasionally see him for an instant, but that's it. No more than that. For instance, perhaps while it's thunderstorming at night, there's a 5% chance that you will catch a split-second glimpse of Herobrine in the distance whenever lightning flashes, with a cap of once per storm. That would be kinda neat and creepy, but as far as an actual mob that interacts with the world? No support.

either he becomes a boss in a new (very hard) difficulty, or Herobrine doesn't exist at all, is my opinion for an update for the game.
Or I guess, he could be a ghost, who is non griefing, but has a chance to spawn on a night of a full moon.
But as somebody else suggested in another thread, if Mojang are going to add ghosts, they may as well dedicate an entire new biome for that, Haunted Forest I believe the individual called it, this would be a good reason to introduce Herobrine officially, but as a non griefing entity, only haunting players who traversed the new biome at night time.

Maybe not adding Herobrine entirely into the game but having "clues" hinting to him in the form of generated structures or something similar I like the idea of. Maybe not being able to change already loaded chunks, but having a forest have a very low chance to be stripped of its leaves could be a cool addition, as with a sealed off cave with redstone torches or a small pyramid in the middle of the ocean.

Hey guys I'm James, I used to be a noob but now I'm not, I finally figured out how to use TextCraft so here's a banner for one of my suggestions.
Now, I know this is very controversial, the idea of Herobrine and whatever. I just don't want anyone to get offended by this and I apologize if someone has had a similar idea. There's already been over 3000 users before you that had this idea (and all met with rightly placed rejection). So you're probably as late as you can possibly be. =/

This is how every Herobrine thread starts. "He's been so integrated in the community so we need to add him!!!" No, he's an obnoxious tired crappypasta that's been talked about for too long. The devs stated they won't add him.

I think I'll pass. I don't want a mob trolling my game.

Anyway as the anniversary of Herobrine approaches... I don't want a garbage failed creepypasta as a boss. It's bad enough that "removed her0br1ne lol" was added to so many changelogs. There's a joke that got super old. I still picture the fake threads by the 7-year-olds going "omg i saw him plszz believe me =O"
Let Herobrine stay in it's dead meme grave.
It's time to give the fans what the want Minecraft!!! no.
Other than the obvious problems with this post (mentioned above by other users), another real problem with this is that if Herobrine was ever added, I think it would take away all the mystery and legend regarding him.
He is a cool urban legend that creeps people out, nothing more, nothing less.
No.
It's an urban legend.
I don't see him as a mob roaming the world and griefing stuff. Especially when unprovoked. Not just it would be annoying, but also break the entire urban legend to pieces, because it would inevitably end up as:
1. Non-responsive griefing curiosity;
2. Stealthy disembodied pest;
3. Danger to be routinely prepared against; 4. Yet another pathetic mob biting the dust after being viciously assaulted by a doped netheriteclad player armed to the teeth standing in the way of, and triumphantly conquered by the Glorious Human Empire.

While we do not lock suggestions about items that are on Mojang's official list of things they will not add/change (we feel that an idea can have discussion value even if Mojang has said no), it would be remiss of me not to link it: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360005029872-Previously-Considered-Suggestions#mobs

Ahh yes, the weekly Herobrine thread that's been hated hated hated for almost ten years now. Thread #39928 isn't gonna change anyone's minds.
