Since swamps are getting updated soon, a cool new zombie type would be nice. These Maybe they spawn wearing turtle helmets already and have a 5% chance to drop them or 25% chance for a turtle scute/shell piece.
As of lava oceans - they slow beings in them to insane degree. Ziglins can walk on lava ocean beds though, although I'd rather see them swim there, the sheer mass of lava should crush to death anything that goes more than 5 meters under the surface.

Dwarf gamer found:
Buildings - square, not round
Materials - from rubble mound
Dark caves - lit 'n' cleaned out
Settlements - deep underground
Farmability - to grinder bound
Shields - made creepers but sound
Axes and crossbows - taking mobs out
That's only one mob, though. Compare that to something like the Jungle which has ocelots, parrots and pandas, none of which appear elsewhere. Until the 1.14 cat separation, they also were the only way to obtain cats. And besides, it's not like swamps aren't going to be updated in an upcoming major update.

Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
Perhaps Drowned could simply spawn with this skin if they're in Warm Ocean biomes. It would make sense, given that warm water = faster decomposition, as seen with that model. I don't think we need to implement a fully new variant for it, but I'd be down with just some more visual flavor.

We got 3 zombies types already either way.
Alright, new mob, I'd vote for a new spider type, preferably one able to walk on surface of water as on solid ground (surface tension) and with weakening+slowing venom.

Make yourself a new topic, please, Tow, or we may get told to shut up for going off topic. I like your idea though, sounds like a hostile Strider-Spider combination.

Good point. Maybe a mob made of hard rock would work better for lava oceans.

Swamps are pretty dull, even with Slimes and Frogs. I always like new mob variants! Full Support!

Hey guys I'm James, I used to be a noob but now I'm not, I finally figured out how to use TextCraft so here's a banner for one of my suggestions.

Spiders have only two types, zombies have 3, plus ziglins and zoglins.
Why a new zombie type when we can have alternative spiders and creepers?

I've suggested this before - look up "Wall Creepers" and "Camo creepers". Creepers are oversimplified and underused in this game as the only Overworld mob that can seriously affect the environment.
However, this suggestion is because the old Drowned skin exists. Since it exists anyway, may as well not let the work in it go to waste. I say this for all rejected ideas in games and other projects, though. Rejecting ideas instead of rethinking them is wasting time on making them.

Or alternatively, since they look more burnt, make them Nether Drowned found in lava oceans and rising from the lava to scare you.
(This would actually work better but I think swamps is more likely a suggestion to go through, with or without turtle helmets).
Swamps have slimes.
Enough special mobs for them!

Well if you go about it that way, every biome is dull.
Well that is true, Swamps have potential to be one of the most atmospheric areas in Minecraft.

To be fair, the suggestion is for adding a texture variant. Not a new type of Drowned/Zombie altogether.
