They need to add a frog mob that will spawn in swamp biome, some water biomes and rarely spawn in caves.
The mob is passive until attacked by the player and will do around 1.5 hearts per hit with no armour on.
The drops could be slime, leaves and feathers and maybe a new item called "frog legs" which could be eaten and do the same thing as raw chicken. The legs could be added to soup or just cooked to be a better food source.
The frog would be the height of the plays legs or perhaps up to the waist and would be available in different colours such as green red and blue. They might even be able to shoot poison in the same way that the llama spits.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the recent biome vote (mountain, savannah or swamp) was just for which one would be added first. And frogs were included in the swamp preview.
So unless I'm remembering the biome vote incorrectly, frogs are coming.

Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.

The frogs are coming (apparently).

Hey guys I'm James, I used to be a noob but now I'm not, I finally figured out how to use TextCraft so here's a banner for one of my suggestions.

I hope so, because this would be wonderful and updates like this I can definitely agree with because then the ecosystem within the game becomes a lot more interesting.
Personally I think if you want ecosystem feels you're best off playing Bedrock. It has a more lively feel due to different animations and some design changes to trees and plants.

But Java has tons of different mods which make the world more lively.

Overall approval, with some notes: 1. Mountains outvoted swamps, rockmasses go first, mudlands go later.
2. Frogs are small cowardly animals, they should run and not try to fight back.
3. Toads as optional alternative that might poison you if you try to eat it raw and prefers marching over jumping. And maybe spit poison before running.
4. Drops:
Slime - OK
Legs - OK
Leaves - what? Why?
Feathers - WTF?! Amphibians are not birds!
5. Option for breeding, or in case of toads, if somehow grown to size of a pig, riden as all-terrain ride able to move reliably over water just as much as land. Food - spider eyes, might be put on a stick to make toad rides move.
6. If we are meant to have highly posionous frog it should be in Jungles. No. Jungles have enough assets, and Swamps are temperate climate thing, where amphibians are at most mildly poisonous.

Dwarf gamer found:
Buildings - square, not round
Materials - from rubble mound
Dark caves - lit 'n' cleaned out
Settlements - deep underground
Farmability - to grinder bound
Shields - made creepers but sound
Axes and crossbows - taking mobs out
But Java has tons of different mods which make the world more lively.
Mods are a cheap substitute for the real thing, some people want more content to be standard with the official game. If devs want to rely on the modding community to fix the flaws with their game then they have bigger problems. And yes, Minecraft hasn't reached its full potential and could improve a lot with more passive and neutral mobs in the vanilla experience, whether Java or bedrock.

Agreed.

I have heard this mentioned around YouTube a few times, so I believe you are correct. Can't wait!
They just seem like a neutral slime to me.
We'll just have to wait and see, then.
