As of right now you can not plant warped or crimson fungus on mycelium, which would make sense if it could only be planted on nylium or netherrack but they can be planted on regular grass. Just wanted to include them in a mushroom build that I am about to finish and I thought it would make sense that the mushrooms from the nether could be planted on the mushroom biome's grass.
Mycelium is infested dirt.
Nylium is infested netherrack.
Nether fungi grow in netherrack, they don't in dirt. I'd approve reverse situation, though - overworld mycelium should be able to grow both on netherrack as well as on dirt.
That'd make mushrooms the bridge between overworld-dirt-only plants and Netherrack fungi, considering that they appear nowadays in the nether just like they used to in the past minecraft.

Dark caves - lit 'n' cleaned out
Settlements - deep underground
Farmability - to grinder bound
Shields - made creepers but sound
Axes and crossbows - taking mobs out

They are fungi (I think) so it would make sense! Full Support!
But you are able to plant them on Grass.
Wait, what? o_O
What is that entire thread for then?

You are currently able to plant both of the Nether trees on Grass. You are unable to plant them on Mycelium. The OP is suggesting that we should be able to plant them on Mycelium.

Hey guys I'm James, I used to be a noob but now I'm not, I finally figured out how to use TextCraft so here's a banner for one of my suggestions.

Oh, like that?!
Now that's something that ought to be fixed!
It's dumb that it can be planted on grass but not mycelium!

Grass...but not mycelium.
It's like the fungi had an allergy or a war with each other.
