I think adding apple trees to the game would make a nice addition to the tree variety. Also, it doesn't really make sense that apples fall from oak trees, so it would be a logical decision as well.

I'd much rather like to keep Apples on Oak Trees, with some slight tweaks like making leaves containing apples have a different texture. I understand that Apples don't come from Oak Trees, but I think that it makes the trees unique in Minecraft. Plus, what unique wood would an Apple Tree give?

Hey guys I'm James, I used to be a noob but now I'm not, I finally figured out how to use TextCraft so here's a banner for one of my suggestions.
There's no apple trees because that makes getting golden apples that much easier.
The current implementation doesn't make getting golden apples any easier or harder - just more tedious. There is absolutely no point in making people break a bunch of leaves all the time just to get apples, just like there is no point in making them break gravel a bunch just to get flint.

Remember those versions that minecraft pranked us with? Specifically:
Minecraft 2.0
Minecraft 1.VR-Pre1
Snapshot 15w14a
Minecraft 3D
Those are still downloadable! Watch this video for 2.0:
To download the other ones you need to make a folder in the versions folder for minecraft and put the client and JSON file for the versions in there. They all need to be named the same aside from file extensions. Once you do that, you will be able to choose that version when making a new profile with the minecraft launcher.

You don't need to break leaves, only logs; sure, you can use Fortune on leaves but the benefit is only about half of what you get with ores (+66% vs +120%) and the time spent mining 66% more logs with an Efficiency V diamond axe is much less than the time saved on mining 40% fewer leaves, at least until 1.16 as hoes can get Efficiency and Fortune and can instantly mine them (you need to mine an average of 120 leaves per apple with Fortune III, 200 without. A small oak has 55 leaves on average, independent of height, and as few as 4 logs if the height is limited to the minimum).
As far as golden apples go, they are only easy to get because of broken farms, which shouldn't ever be considered when balancing something (rather, they should be nerfed), only gold from mining ores and natural mob kills; this is also why Mojang first made golden apples require ingots instead of nuggets in 1.6, then completely removed the ability to craft enchanted golden apples in 1.9 (even 8 blocks of gold is ridiculously cheap when you have a gold farm, that said, I regularly mine at least this much every time I play but the majority of players don't do nothing but caving/mining all the time, if at all).
I like this idea because I think oak trees should be bigger and rarer.
I.e. all small oak trees are now apple trees, and only big ones are oak trees and do not drop apples ( for balance ).
It has never made sense to me that most oaks would be tiny or that they would be so common, dropping apples aside.
Apple trees are common enough, although birches would make even more sense to replace them but their wood looks odd (could still work in coniferous forests but maybe the tall ones only).

It would give apple tree wood.
What colour is it?

Apple tree colour. Duh. (Bit lighter than oak.)

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

Pink trees would also be lovely :3
