The new crawling mechanic and the fact that crouching now lets you crouch under slabs can be abused to make a hole that only you can get through. You can replace a door with an upside down slab and you'll be able to crouch under it while zombies and other monsters will just bump their head into it and be unable to pass, almost as if too dumb to just lower their head slightly.
I think zombies, zombie villagers, skeletons, creepers, husks, strays, drowned, evil villagers of any type, piglins, and zombie piglins should be able to crouch down slightly to chase the player underneath slabs, to prevent abusing the feature. Like players, they move slower like this.
All of the above except creepers should also be able to crawl through 1 block high spaces to chase the player through them as well, again, moving at a slower speed. They will not naturally do this, and will only do it if they sense a player on the other side.
Endermen and wither skeletons should also be able to crouch down slightly to chase the player under 2 block high spaces, still moving at a slower speed, giving the player an advantage as they do not need to crouch like the monster does. They will crawl if it is 1 and a half blocks high.
Not only would this be able to prevent using that mechanic to cheaply avoid enemies, but just imagine having a horse of zombies crawling through openings. But, if they could crawl, I think the player should be able to do the same on command, maybe by holding 'crouch' for 2 seconds, then holding it again for 1 would make the player crouch, or 2 to stand.

I'm fine with being able to crawl on command, you basically can crawl whenever you want using trapdoors, so why not just make it to where you can do it as you please?
So are you supporting the idea of crouching and crawling monsters or not supporting it?

I know this is a typo but crawling trap horses chasing you would be super cool.

Also have it so that the player can crawl anytime by holding Ctrl.
