Since shulkers hold the bulk of your items in the endgame, and netherrite can protect things from lava, I propose that if you surround a shulker by netherrite ingots in a crafting table, you get a netherrite shulker box
To download the other ones you need to make a folder in the versions folder for minecraft and put the client and JSON file for the versions in there. They all need to be named the same aside from file extensions. Once you do that, you will be able to choose that version when making a new profile with the minecraft launcher.
I was about to make this exact suggestion. It would be incredibly useful since people die by lava quite a lot.
Full Support.
I noticed lava runs faster in the nether too, it has caught me and my friends out a few times. But this is why I intend to bring plenty of cobblestone on me when I do things in the nether, one for blocking the lava, 2 as a blast proof material against the Ghasts.
But nether rite materials and items would be wonderful, it would mean I wouldn't have to worry about accidentally dropped swords in lava pools or what not, and a shulker box made of netherrite would sweeten the deal. It would also mean I wouldn't have to help friends out if they had accidents in the nether. If they remembered where they died, they could retrieve dropped items after going back in or respawning there after the new update allows it.
Could make it hold like a double chest worth of slots if upgraded with netherite also
That would be useful, it would effectively expand the capacity of ender chests too if the nether rite shulker chests could be made into double shulker chests. Allowing people more private loot to protect their rares in, but honestly I feel like this ought to be the limit of what can be stored in the ender chest, as at that point each player would already have more rares than they could possibly need during survival gameplay. If I managed to get a surplus still I'd be willing to share it with others.

You mean in case you drop it into lava, I assume?
Yes
an interesting proposal, to protect dropped items from lava by using a rare craftable that requires end game content.
though this wouldn't protect you from the void, just something worth keeping in mind.
and to my knowledge there is no item yet in the game that can restore anything you dropped in the void in End if you died there.
this proposal seems to me more beneficial for the nether, as in vanilla survival it is impossible to reach the void, at least without glitching.

Remember those versions that minecraft pranked us with? Specifically:
Those are still downloadable! Watch this video for 2.0:

the shulker box suggestion is genius really.
The End says hi.
Aren't you contradicting yourself? The End is part of vanilla survival...
Read the last sentence, there was no contradiction, I specifically mentioned the nether, not the End.
In Nether bedrock prevents survival players from reaching the void.
Okay but then why even bring the void up if it's not a relevant risk?
