I think it would be really neat to be able to craft a pet collar (which could be dyed for color preferences), for any tamable mob! For example, I tame a dog that I then name Rex. I could craft a collar, and I choose to dye it orange. Then, I could rush to the enchantment table, or anvil, and either enchant/apply a Protection IV book to it! Suddenly, my dog has a lot more protection. Maybe hey, my dog deserves better! Throw thorns on that collar too, why not? Now my companion is equally kitted out as I am! I think this would be an elegant idea and a new feature like this for all tamable mobs could be a really fun addition to the game! If you're a pirate, suddenly, your parrot is stronger than ever! A cat lover? Now your cat could fall from heights and always land unscathed, etc.!
I can get down with this. Some pet specific enchantments would be nice too, maybe one that allows Wolves to heal a small amount of HP when attacking something.

I could see enchanting being for dog armor, certainly, but not really collars.
If you mean you'd like to be able to craft and place a collar on any tameable mob, I don't see why not, if you really want to put collars on pigs and chickens, I guess... But, I'd prefer enchantments to stick to armor (and, if they added a magic system, to robes for mage players).
So, sure, I'll go for collars, but not enchanting them.
Hi!

Let me know what you think!

Armor for tamables. It'd definitely make them more useful in the long run.
Supported.
Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
I can get down with this. Some pet specific enchantments would be nice too, maybe one that allows Wolves to heal a small amount of HP when attacking something.

I would love for pets to be more viable in the game... I mean other than taming 10 wolves and having them fight for you.
