Under-lava Nether Temples are like Ocean Temples but with a twist...
Beneath the fiery liquid exists a sinister, red, omnious temple. An evil sibling of the ocean temple, with twisted, cracked spires, red prismarine and orange-yellow glowstone. This is a fortress not for the faintest of hearts, and the smallest of minds. "Now," you may ask yourself, "How do I visit such a difficult place? Diving in lava is a burden, and how much more of a burden is it to swim and see through it?"
POTION OF LAVA AFFINITY
Well, my child, you must acquire the Potion of Lava Affinity, which needs a magma cream, blaze rod, and a jar of honey. Craft them together and you will get an ingredient. Brew it and you will get what you needed.
The effects of this potion is a boon and a bane. Number one: You will get harmed if you touch water and rain. Don't like being an Enderman? What a shame. But this potion, when used in the Nether, can change the game. When you touch fire, or swim in lava, you will be safe. You can see through it properly, like water, and swim through it like a master.
But be warned, the Lava Temple is rare. It's most likely when you dive in the lava ocean, it won't be there. So grab a map from the nearest carpenter. And make sure you are a great mapper.
THE LAVA GUARDIANS
On your journey, you will see twisted and dead corals. However, do not let that destroy your morale. Eventually, you would see huge, red, guardianlike pufferfish. They are not one to be eaten in a dish! They have one eye, and more powerful spikes. They will do anything to take your life. Their lasers create small explosions, and that makes them more atrocious.
When you manage to get in, that's when your journey will almost end. Just remember that it's yourself that you defend. There is a more sinister threat, and you must be scared, I bet.
A gigantic guardian, a size of a huge slime, will attack and bomb you, without wasting time. It's weak spot is only the eye, but its spikes will entwine. Once you defeat the big beast, you will find some treasure you seek. One of the important objects is the Ruby. They come in threes, for every chest inside you see.
Take the rubies back home, and only Notch (and the devs) knows what's its use. Maybe it could be a source of redstone, or a fuse. But that is the end of my suggestion.
The concept is interesting, but I'm not a fan of the execution. It sounds an awfully lot like "Ocean Monuments, but with Lava", which is kind of boring to me. Personally instead of making a brand new ingredient and a brand new potion, I would just allow people to make a Fire Resist 2 potion the same way you can enhance other potions. Also you haven't sold me on the reward, because you don't actually give it a use.
