based on the william hope hodgson short story "the voice in the night" (1907), what if the mushroom fields biome included mushroom villages? in the short story, a fungus-like growth turns the survivors of a shipwreck into more of the same. while i know there's mooshrooms what about mooshroom people?
Also, this sounds like something ripped out of a Mario game.
Dude I've been looking through the forums, and I just have to ask. Are you incapable of considering an idea just because it's fun? Nearly every post you make is along the lines of "why bother with this?" or "how is this useful?" It's a game, it's intended to be fun.
Back on topic I think mushroom villages would be cool. Probably not too different from normal villages mechanics wise but with villagers that have the same mushroom, tumors(?) as mooshrooms. They're houses could be build from a combination of mushroom blocks and stone bricks, and maybe smaller houses are actually red giant mushrooms with a door in the side. (I've made houses out of mushroom blocks, the bright red looks really nice).
Trade wise I'd imagine they're pretty similar. Maybe they have mooshroom farms instead of crop beds and farmers milk the mooshrroms for soup? They may not need as many golems since the only way monsters spawn on the island is the occasional beach block that reaches into the "ocean" biome.
I support this idea, mushroom islands are pretty rare and as it stands don't have much reward for finding them.

Villages in biomes meant to be alien ruin the feeling of it being alien, no matter what the villages are disguised as. I'd prefer something more unique.

Mushroom kingdoms would probably be too OP, but I would support mushroom villages or settlements. Although I support, your idea does have need for improvement. What trades would the villagers have (considering there's not much mushroom themed items, and you're on a mushroom island, would they have unique things for sale)? How big would the "kingdoms" be? What would the villagers look like? What would the buildings look like?
Considering Mooshrooms can be sheared to remove the fungus, I'm under the impression that Mooshrooms are used as Mushroom transportation rather then being parasitic, so the villagers should probably still somewhat resemble villagers.

Why do we need this?

My suggestions: Enhancements - Throwable Fire Charges - On Phantoms and Elytra. Also check out The Minecraftian Language. This signature is not here to waste your space.

Support, kinda
When players build on the Mushroom Island it allows mobs to spawn on the island.
Hey guys I'm James, I used to be a noob but now I'm not, I finally figured out how to use TextCraft so here's a banner for one of my suggestions.
