When you kill the ender dragon you get its egg, but what does it do? Nothing! It would be awesome if the egg hatched and you got a baby dragon that grew over time and you could ride it and fly
That would be completely unbalanced in multiplayer, and likely even unbalanced in singleplayer. Would be a lot better if red dragons got added instead, although it might be hard to add them in properly.
This seems like it would be unbalanced. If it hatched into a baby dragon that just followed you around but didn't do anything else (think pets in World of Warcraft), it would be a more interesting trophy than one that just sits in somebody's house.

I like it more as a trophy. I have one and it sits right in the middle of my trophy hall, all prestigious and every time I look at it, I'm proud. If I would hatch it, I couldnt have it In my cool area in the trophy hall. In my opinion, I think a dragon pet would get too big and be an inconvenience.

The dragon egg is meant to be a trophy for killing the Ender Dragon. If it was meant to have a use, it'd have had one since 1.0.
My suggestions: Enhancements - Throwable Fire Charges - On Phantoms and Elytra. Also check out The Minecraftian Language. This signature is not here to waste your space.
You can hatch it again in the end? Just without the baby dragon though.
All heil to me.
